Mañana empieza un puente de 4 días y hoy he ido a comer al Savatei para coger fuerzas para ir en autobús a Hofu.

明日から4連休だから、防府までバスで行く力をためるために鯖亭でお昼食べてきた。

It’ll be 4 holidays in a row starting tomorrow, and I went to Savatei for lunch to get enough energy to get on a bus to Hofu.

El pescado en Japón no se come solo crudo ni mucho menos. De hecho, el sushi y el sashimi no son platos de diario pero los pescados cocinados sí lo son.

日本で食べる魚は全部生じゃない。これも世界に知られ始めたらしい。

In Japan we don’t always have our fish raw. In fact, neither sushi or sashimi are usual treats at homes while cooked fish are.

Este es un sanma a la plancha. Personalmente me da un poco de cosica pero es de las pocas “comidas con cara” que soy capaz de comer. Sacar la chicha con los palillos requiere cierta práctica así que no pidáis pescados a la parrilla si no sois maestros palilleros.

これはサンマの塩焼き。個人的にはちょっと不気味に見えると思うけど、僕でも頑張って食べれる「顔つき食べ物」の一つです。食べるのに結構なお箸技術が必須。

This is a grilled sanma. I find it a bit creepy but it’s one of the few “foods with face” I can actually eat. Getting to the good part with chopsticks requires some practice so I can only recommend grilled fish to chopstick masters.

Otro plato bastante común es el pescado blanco empanado, crujiente por fuera y calentito por dentro. A menudo se sirve con salsa tártara. Este pescado es mucho más fácil de comer ya que normalmente no tiene piel ni espinas.

白身フライもよく見る魚料理の一つだ。外はぱりぱりで、中は温かい。タルタルソースが付いてくることが多い。骨や皮が殆ど付いていなくて、実に食べやすい。

Another quite common dish is deep fried fish, crispy on the outside and warm in the inside. Often served with tartare sauce. This fish is much easier to eat, usually having no bones or skin.

Hoy he ido a comer al Savatei para reincorporarme a mi horario habitual y había un plato muy típico del otoño japonés: sanma a la parrilla.

今日は生活のテンポを取り戻すために鯖亭でお昼食べに行ったらサンマの塩焼きが出た。

Today I went to Savatei for lunch in order to recover my daily life tempo, and the daily lunch was grilled sanma.

El sanma se conoce como sauri o paparda en español y es un pescado que hecho a la parrilla con sal está muy sabroso, y además es uno de los manjares más típicos del otoño japonés. Para todos los que le tienen respeto a comerse un pescado entero con palillos, un truco del Sr. tak513: aplastar la raspa antes de empezar a sacar la chicha, de manera que las espinas salen al quitar la raspa en vez de tener que sacarlas después una a una.

お箸で焼き魚を食べるのは難しいから、kat513さんに教えてもらった：背骨をつぶしといたら、お肉をとるときには骨が付かない。助かりました！役立てています！

Sanma or pacific saury is a very tasty fish when grilled, and it’s very typical of the autumn in Japan. For everyone out there who still doesn’t dare to eat grilled fish with chopsticks, here’s tak513’s advice: crush the backbone before taking the meat so that you don’t have to remove the sanma’s small bones one by one.

No soy un experto con los palillos comiendo pescados a la parrilla, pero os digo lo que le dije a la mujer del restaurante: “no me lo he comido con mucha habilidad pero sí que me lo he comido muy a gusto”. ¡Haciendo las cosas a gusto es como más se aprende!

それでもまだまだ焼き魚の初心者です。でもお店の人に言った通り「あまりきれいに食べれなったけど、とても美味しく頂きました」。新しいことをを身につけるのなら、嬉しい時は一番！

But I’m still a newbie at having grilled fish, so I said this to the restaurant’s manager – “I didn’t eat it in a quite correct way, but I enjoyed every bit of it”. When one’s enjoying, it’s the best time to practise new stuff!

Para colmo, parece que el menú de ayer era arroz hayashi, una especie de curry japonés pero sin picante, y como sobró un poco la encantadora señora del restaurante me puso “una tapita” de regalo. Por supuesto, estaba delicioso también.

おまけに、昨日の日替わりはハヤシライスだったらしくて、その残りもサービスされた！もちろん美味しかった。

Besides, it looks like yesterday’s lunch was hayashi rice (like Japanese curry, only it’s not spicy at all) and the cook served me some leftovers. No need to say it was delicious!
