El otro día me compré en una tienda de segunda mano algo que tenía ganas de probar desde hacía tiempo. Era el e-kara de Takara, el micrófono de karaoke que se conecta a la tele y lee las canciones de un cartucho como los de la Game Boy, y salió a la venta el 20 de octubre del año 2000.
この間ジャンク品を見ていたら前から試したかった物を見つけた。2000年10月20日発売のタカラのイーカラ。このマイクをテレビに繋げるだけでカラオケが楽しめる。曲はゲームボーイのカセットみたいな物から読み込む。
The other day I found at a second hand shop something I had wanted to try for some time. Takara’s e-kara was released on October 20 in 2000, and you just have to connect it to your TV to enjoy some karaoke. It reads songs from cartridges similar to Game Boy ones.

Los controles son sencillos pero no falta nada: volumen, tempo y clave de la canción, y efectos y eco para la voz. Además de un botón para quitar la canción, por supuesto.
操作は簡単だけど足りない物はない：ボリューム、テンポ、キー、エコー、エフェクト・・・もちろんキャンセルボタンも。
Control is simple but it doesn’t lack anything: volume, tempo, key, echo and voice effects, and of course a button for cancelling a song.
En un cartucho de estos suelen venir 18 canciones. El tamaño del cartucho en sí es ligeramente más grande que un juego de Game Boy Advance.
1個のカセットには普通は18曲が入っている。カセット自体のサイズはゲームボーイアドバンスのソフトより少しだけ大きい。
A cartridge usually holds 18 songs, and the size of the thing is just a bit bigger than a Game Boy Advance game.
La curiosidad por saber cuántos megabits ocupan 18 canciones con sus 18 fondos me llevó a abrir el cartucho (aunque usaba tornillos con cabeza triangular). Pero no lo he podido averiguar porque la ROM no está en un circuito integrado tipo cucaracha sino en uno tipo lenteja, y no tiene nada escrito por fuera.
その18曲＋18枚の背景は一体どんだけのメガビットに入っているか調べたくて開けてみた（珍しい三角頭のネジだけど）。しかしロムは普通のICじゃなくてぷよぷよみたいなやつだったから何も書いてなかった。残念。
I wanted to know how many megabits was it taking to store 18 songs with their 18 background pictures, so I opened a cartridge even though it had rare triangle-headed screws. Too bad the ROM chip wasn’t your usual black square but a blob without a single hex number written on it.
El próximo 18 de octubre Takara-Tomy pondrá a la venta el Hi-kara, que es como el e-kara pero 8 años después y con pantalla (información en español en Un español en Japón). Y valdrá 10500 yenes, más de 10 veces lo que he pagado por el e-kara, así que aunque me parece chulo por ahora voy a seguir amortizando el e-kara.
今度の10月18日にタカラトミーが新しいハイ・カラを発売するらしい。イーカラに画面が8年後にくっついたみたいな物で、希望価格は10500円らしい。面白いと思うけど、最近イーカラを買ってきたからもうしばらく使わせてもらう。ハイ・カラの価格の1割もしなかったし。
Next October 18, Takara-Tomy is releasing the new Hi-kara, which is more or less like a new e-kara but with a screen, and 8 years after. It will cost 10500 yen, more than 10 times what I paid for my e-kara, so I guess I’ll have to use this one for a while.
