pepino ペピーノ / game boy rock band

El sábado estuvimos en Studio Kura porque se inauguraba una exposición de la artista de Singapur Shih Yun Yeo. Aquí está con el organizador, Hirofumi. Y aquí abajo tenéis fotos de las obras, que por supuesto en persona molan mucho más.

土曜日はStudio Kuraでシンガポール人アーティストシーユン・イェオ氏の展覧会のオープニングパーティに行ってきました。この上の写真には主催者の松崎さんと一緒に写っている。下記は作品の写真です。実物を見た方が凄い迫力があるんですよ。

Last Saturday we went to Studio Kura for an opening party. An exhibition from Singaporean artist Shih Yun Yeo was starting. Here she is with the organizer, Hirofumi. And below are pictures of her works, which of course look a lot better than in photograph.

Me pareció muy interesante cómo expresa el cambio, el movimiento y el tiempo, sobre todo con esas herramientas tan poco convencionales y habiendo hecho todo en 408 horas en Itoshima. Podréis disfrutar de las obras de Shih Yun Yeo si venís el domingo al concierto de pepino en Studio Kura. Y la fiesta de la inauguración estuvo muy bien, ¡conocimos a un montón de gente interesante!

変化・移動・時間を表現するところが面白いと思ったし、使う道具も興味深いし、全てを糸島で408時間をかけて作ったのも凄いと思います。もし今度の日曜日のStudio Kuraでのpepinoのライブに来てくれたらシーユン・イェオさんの作品も見ることができます。オープニングパーティも楽しかった！面白い出会いもいっぱいありました。ありがとうございます！

I found very interesting how she expresses change, movement and time. As well as the tools she used and the fact that she made everything in 408 hours in Itoshima. You can enjoy Shih Yun yeo’s art if you come to the pepino live concert next Sunday in Studio Kura. And the party was great too. We got to meet a lot of interesting people!

El otro día, buscando un sitio nuevo al que ir encontramos por internet un pequeño museo que hay casi fuera de la ciudad: Sawara Museum Ruhè (@sawararuhe en Twitter). Inmediatamente supimos que ese era el lugar al que teníamos que ir.

先日面白いところないかな、とネットで検索していたらほぼ町外れにある小さな美術館を見つけた：早良美術館るうゑ（Twitterで@sawararuhe）。これだ！このに行かないと！と思った。

The other day, we were searching the net for a cool place to go to and we found this small museum almost out of the city: Sawara Museum Ruhè (@sawararuhe in Twitter). We immediately knew that was the place we had to go to.

Resultó ser un lugar en el que se funden el encanto de los suburbanos y cuasi-rurales de Japón con el mundo del arte.

住宅街と田舎の間のバランスがさらにアートの世界とうまいバランスになっている。

It happens to be a place with a neat balance between the suburban (almost rural) Japan and the magic of art.

A la entrada ya nos saluda una obra de un artista del que no tomé nota, lo siento.

入り口で「いらっしゃいませ」の代わりに置いてある作品。作者はメモらなくてすみませんでした。

We are greeted at the entrance by a work from an artist I failed to take note of. Sorry.

El museo es una casa y se nota. Se está muy cómodo paseando por las habitaciones buscando cosas chulas para ver.

美術館は「家」という空間であることが分かりやすい。部屋を回って面白い作品を見るのが楽しい。

The museum is a house and feels like it. It feels very good to walk around it looking for cool works to see.

Siempre hay una exposición de alguien, y ahora estaban expuestos unos óleos de Katsumi Kondō.

いつも、誰かの展示があるみたいです。今は近藤克美さんの油絵が展示されています。

There’s always an exhibition by someone, and now it’s Katsumi Kondō’s oil paintings.

Encontré muy interesante esta cerámica de Hideo Kitaoka que había en una habitación. ¿Qué os parece que es?

床の間にあった北岡秀雄さんのこの作品は気になった。何を表していると思う？

I found very interesting this ceramic work by Hideo Kitaoka. What do you think it is?

Yo al principio pensé en una aleta de pez, o un filo de hacha, pero luego vi que lo de abajo parecía la tierra y lo de arriba el cielo, y había un Buda con un movimiento ascendente expresado de una forma muy gráfica, casi de cómic. Me sorprendió mucho.

最初は魚のひれとか斧とか思ったけど、ずっと見てたら下の方が地に見えて、上の方が天に見えた。そして上がっていく仏様の動きが表現されているところが漫画に近い表現は興味深いです。

At first it looked like a fish fin or an axe to me, but then I saw the bottom looked like earth, and the top like heaven. And there was this small Buddha ascending, with his movement being depicted in a very touching way. It almost feels like manga, doesn’t it?

Como en toda casa japonesa con solera, había un ventilador muy clásico.

歴史がある民家に欠かせない、昔ながらの扇風機。

As for any Japanese house with a story or two, there’s an old electric fan.

Y este es el cartel. Ojo que dicen Ruhe quiere decir paz en alemán, pero lo han escrito con una letra de hiragana que ya no se usa. ¿Os la sabíais?

そしてこれは美術館の看板。Ruheはドイツ語で平和という意味らしいだけど、ひらがな表記には現在使われていない文字が入っていますね。こういう文字を見るときは、皆さんすぐ読めますか？

And this is the sign. Ruhe means peace in German, but for the hiragana they used a character that isn’t of common use as of now. Did you know that character?
