Hoy os presento un libro bastante interesante llamado Shouwa Retro-Go Jiten de Emiko Kiyono (Kodansha, 30 de enero de 2007). Se compone de artículos sobre cosas que fueron famosas en Japón entre los años 30 y 42 de la era Showa, o sea entre 1955 y 1967.
今日紹介する本は結構面白い：清野恵美子氏の「昭和レトロ語辞典」（講談社、2007年1月30日）。昭和30〜42年日本で流行ったものがまとまっています。
Today I’m introducing a quite interesting book by Emiko Kiyono called Shouwa Retro-Go Jiten (Kodansha, 30 January 2007). It’s made of articles on things that were famous between years 30 and 42 of the Showa era, what means from 1955 to 1967.
Gekko Kamen, que se podría traducir como enmascarado de la luz de luna, fue el primer superhéroe televisivo de Japón, siendo predecesor de Kamen Rider, Ultraman y hasta de los Power Rangers. Si saliera así a la calle en estos tiempos probablemente lo tacharían de pervertido.
月光仮面は日本のテレビの最初のスーパーヒーローだった。その後を継いだ仮面ライダー、ウルトラマンなどよりずっと変態っぽい格好をしている。
Gekko Kamen, which can be translated as Moonlight Mask, was the first TV super hero made in Japan. Later came Kamen Rider, Ultraman and even the Power Rangers. I wonder if Gekko Kamen would go out today with those hentai (perv) looks.
La muñeca Licca-chan de Takara-Tomy fue la Nancy de Japón. La ilustraciones que acompañaban a la primera versión son de Miyako Maki, la esposa del genio del manga de ciencia ficción Leiji Matsumoto.
タカラトミーのリカちゃんは日本の民族的な人形だった。最初の出荷についていたイラストは松本零士氏の奥さんの牧美也子氏の作品でした。
Takara-Tomy’s Licca-chan doll was Japan’s Barbie. The illustrations on the first version of the box were the work of Miyako Maki, wife of sci-fi manga genius Leiji Matsumoto.
