Tomonoura es un pueblo que pertenece a la ciudad de Fukuyama en la Provincia de Hiroshima. En 2005 Hayao Miyazaki estuvo viviendo aquí dos meses y se basó en esta estancia para la película Ponyo.
鞆の浦は広島県福山市の小さい港町。宮崎駿は2005年の2ヶ月の滞在を「崖の上のポニョ」のベースにしたらしい。
