Benjamin Füglister’s H1N1/Prêt à Porter

Benjamin, fotógrafo suizo en residencia en Studio Kura, va a hacer una sesión en IAF Shop el sábado 28. El tema es gente con máscaras. Si vienes a que te fotografíen te darán tu foto con y sin máscara.

糸島のStudio Kuraに滞在中のスイス人写真家ベンヤミンさんが写真のモデルを探しています。28日の土曜日にIAFshopで撮影を行うそうです。マスクをつけて写真を撮ってもらおう！撮られた写真は、マスク付きのもマスクなしのも貰える。

Swiss photographer Benjamin, artist in residence at Studio Kura, will be taking pictures of people in masks at IAF shop on Saturday 28th. If you come and have your photographs taken, you’ll get your picture with and without mask.

About H1N1/Prêt à Porter
When arriving in Japan coming from Europe it is striking how many people wear masks to protect themselves from catching the swine flue recently. A few hours later diving into city life one quickly realizes that there are various mask models, not to say fashionable designs, on the market. H1N1/Prêt à Porter is a documentary project portraying people wearing these «fashionable» masks. It questions the pharma industry and it associated markets by displaying the products in a very fashionnable way. The models wearing the masks will wear state of the art make-up which visually colides with the masks and therefore strikes the mental models we carry of fashion and medicine.

What is your benefit
Each participating model will receive their photograph with and without wearing a mask in return for their effort. This art project will be on display at IAF shop from December 3rd until December 6th as part of Benjamin Füglisters solo show Luminous.Radiant.

About the artist
Benjamin Füglister was born in 1978 in Zurich, Switzerland. He spend his youth in Basel, Switzerland. After extensive travelling through all the continents and receiving his BA degree from the School of Arts in Basel, Switzerland and his MA degree at the School of Arts Utrecht, The Netherlands he now resides in Berlin, Germany. His work is mainly focused on the interchange between the photographic media and modern society. For further information please visit the artist’s website.

Love is Action

El último día de Love is Action (ver artículo anterior) volvimos para ver cómo había evolucionado el mural. Bueno, y también porque había una fiesta.

「Love is Action」の最終日は壁画の様子を見に行った。パーティがあったのも大きな動機でした。（Love is Actionの基本はここで説明してある。）

The last day of Love is Action (see previous post) we went to see how the mural had evolved. The fact that there was a party was a big reason, too.

Aquí se puede ver a Inaguchi pintando sus curvas a pulso. Ni más ni menos que eso, así que esta vez no os esperéis un vídeo de cachondeo. Y a partir de aquí voy a detalles del mural, porque cortes por donde cortes es un cuadro.

Here’s Inaguchi painting his freehand curves. This video shows no more, no less than that, so don’t expect a laughable video this time. And below are details of the mural. Whichever crop of it would be a nice picture.

La fiesta estuvo muy bien y hubo mucha gente interesante. ¡Hasta pude hablar con un japonés fan del power metal de verdad! Me recomendó el Thundersteel de Riot, y yo a él los dos primeros de Scanner. El Thundersteel me ha molado. Supongo que no conocía a Riot porque son americanos.

パーティは面白い人がいっぱいいて楽しかった。日本人のパワーメタルファンと話出来た！Riotの「Thundersteel」をすすめられて、僕からScannerの最初の2つのアルバムをすすめた。「Thundersteel」はかっこいい。Riotを知らなかったのはアメリカのバンドだからかな。

The party was great because there were a lot of interesting people. I even had a conversation with a Japanese power metal fan! He recommended Riot’s Thundersteel and I recommended Scanner’s 2 first albums. I loved Thundersteel. Maybe I didn’t know Riot because they are American.

Gingira Taiyo’s ギンギラ太陽’s

El martes fuimos a ver una obra de teatro con Magí (que por cierto es actor de teatro por si no lo sabíais) y su mujer. Tsubasa o kudasai! Saraba YS-11 de los Gingira Taiyo’s.

火曜日はマジと奥さんと一緒に劇を見に行った。劇はギンギラ太陽’sの「翼をくださいっ！さらばYS－11」だった。ところで、マジは舞台の役者だ。

Last Tuesday we went to the theatre with Magi and wife. We saw Gingira Taiyo’s Tsubasa o kudasai! Saraba YS-11. By the way, Magí is a theatre actor in case you didn’t know.

El teatro era el Nishitetsu Hall, y por eso antes de empezar todos los actores estuvieron dando vueltas por el patio de butacas disfrazados de autobús de Nishitetsu, la empresa de transportes de Fukuoka a la que pepino dedicó una canción.

劇の直前みんなバスを頭にかぶって咳を走り回っていたのは、場所は西鉄ホールだからだろう。pepinoが1曲を捧げた福岡の交通会社。

The place was Nishitetsu Hall, and maybe that’s why all the actors were wearing a bus thing on their head and running around the seats before the play started. Nishitetsu is a transporting company in Fukuoka, to whom pepino dedicated a song!

Se pasaron un buen rato haciéndose fotos con gente.

しばらく観客と写真を撮ってた。

They were taking pictures with the audience for a while.

Cuando empezó la obra ya no llevaban autobuses en la cabeza, ¡pero llevaban aviones! Era una comedia que explica la historia de la aviación japonesa con aviones y aeropuertos como personajes. Muy divertida y aprendimos un montón.

本番が始まったらバスをかぶってなくて今回飛行機をかぶってた。日本の飛行歴史のお話だった。楽しくて勉強になる劇でした。

When the real thing started they weren’t wearing buses anymore. They were wearing planes! It was a play about Japan’s aviation history. Very fun and one learns a lot.

Now Lounge ナウ・ラウンジ

El sábado tocamos en la fiesta de Fukuoka Now Fukuoka Lounge y estuvo todo muy bien.

土曜日はフクオカナウのパーティ「ナウ・ラウンジ」でライブしてきた。とても満足出来た。

Last Saturday we played at Fukuoka Now’s Fukuoka Lounge and everything was great.

El sonido era muy bueno y hubo dos canciones que era la primera vez que las tocábamos en directo. Lo pasamos muy bien. Quiero dar gracias a la organización porque se portaron muy bien con nosotros.

音響はよかったし、初めてライブでやる曲も2曲あったから凄く楽しかった。よろしくしていただいた主催に感謝します。

Sound was very good and there were two songs that we played live for the first time, so we had a great time. I want to thank the organization for caring that much.

Otra que cantaba era la finlandesa Meri Nikula, que nos cayó muy bien y nos gustó mucho su impresionante performance. Además ayer fui al Studio Kura a participar en su taller Voicing Your Body y aprendí muchísimo.

フィンランドのメリ・ニクラも歌った。パーフォマンスは凄い迫力あって、その後で一緒に遊べて嬉しかった。また、昨日Studio Kuraで彼女のワークショップ「Voicing Your Body」に行ってみたら凄い勉強になった。

Meri Nikula from Finland was singing too, and we loved her impressive performance. I also went yesterday to Studio Kura for her Voice Your Body workshop and learnt a lot of interesting stuff.

En su actuación en Fukuoka Lounge, Meri superpuso varias veces su voz y su imagen, creando un espacio mágico y misterioso.

ナウ・ラウンジでの出演では、メリさんは自分の声と映像を重ねて不思議な空間を作成した。

In her performance at Now Lounge, Meri layered her voice and image creating a mystical space.

Y justo antes de nuestro concierto, Tashiro pintó este cuadro en riguroso directo, mientras otro colega suyo bailaba en el mismo escenario. En el fondo también podéis ver a Hirofumi del Studio Kura bebiéndose una cerveza.

そして、僕達のライブの直前Tashiroさんがライブでこの絵を描いた。そのとき、同じステージでもう一人のお仲間が踊っていた。さらに、奥にStudio Kuraの松崎さんがビールを飲んでいる。

And just before our set, Tashiro painted this picture live, while a pal of his was dancing on the same stage. You can also see Studio Kura’s Hirofumi drinking beer in the background.

Murales en Fukuoka 福岡で壁画展

Un grupo de artistas ha organizado un evento-exposición de arte en el que se va haciendo un mural en toda una habitación durante varias semanas. Se llama Love is Action y se puede ir a ver gratis.

福岡のアート集団が博多駅の隣で一室ごとを壁画にするイベント・展を主催している。名前はLove is Action。入場は無料。

An art group in Fukuoka is painting a room’s 4 walls for some weeks. The name is Love is Action, and you can see it for free.

壁画を切り取ることでいろんな絵画が出来ると教えてくれる稲口マンゾさん。

También hay ropa y complementos por los propios artistas, muchos de ellos a la venta (los complementos, no los artistas).

作品になっている洋服アクセサリ置物などもある。その中、販売されているのも多い。

There’s also clothes and accessories by the artists themselves, many of them for sale (the things, not the artists).

El mural continúa por las ventanas, y cubriendo la columna tenemos un óleo.

壁画は窓まで埋める。柱のところには油絵の画家が手を加えている。

The painting continues on the windows, and on the pillar there’s an oil painting.

El flyer es esta fotocopia a mano que nos enseña @taccu. Están todos los días de 12 a 8 de la noche hasta el 31 de diciembre, y abajo tenéis la dirección y el mapa. ¡Muy recomendable!
