Quiero una nueva PC Engine portátil — 新しい携帯型PCエンジンが欲しい

La PC Engine (TurboGrafx en España) fue una máquina de juegos pionera en varias cosas y amenizó la transición entre la Famicom y la Super Famicom, o sea entre la NES y la Super Nintendo.

PCエンジンはゲーム機としていろんな場面で先駆けになった。おかげでファミコン時代とスーファミ時代の間が楽しくなった。

PC Engine (TurboGrafx overseas) was a pioneer in many aspects, and made the transition from the Famicom to the Super Famicom (NES and Super Nintendo) a fun period.

En realidad lo que tengo es la PC Engine GT (TurboExpress), una máquina portátil en la que se puede jugar con limitaciones a los juegos de PC Engine. Siendo tan pequeñas las HU Card (los juegos que no vienen en CD), me pregunto por qué no hace NEC una nueva PC Engine portátil, con una buena pantalla TFT, batería recargable y alguna manera de grabar las partidas. Con la fiebre retro que hay en Japón se forrarían. Pero me da la impresión de que les da miedo vender máquinas que alimenten al temido mercado de segunda mano.

持っているのは初代のPCエンジンじゃなくて携帯型のPCエンジンGTだ。いろんな制限があるけど、基本的にHuカード(CDじゃない)ソフトが使える。HUカードは小さいから、なんでNECさんが新携帯型PCエンジンを作らないかな？TFT液晶、充電式、バックアップ機能があればすぐ購入したい。しかもレトロにこだわる人は日本に多いらしい。新しいハードで中古市場を恵むのが恐いのか？

What I have isn’t the original PC Engine but the PC Engine GT (TurboExpress overseas). And being HU Cards (games that aren’t on a CD) as small as they are, I wonder if the reason for NEC not making a new machine is only not feeding the second hand market? With a nice TFT display, a rechargeable battery and a game saving function the machine would be a must-buy.

Comprando juegos en Chofu — 長府でゲーム買いまくり

Chofu es la zona que más me gusta de Shimonoseki porque hay un Hard Off bastante grande, una de mis tiendas de segunda mano favoritas. Hoy he podido pasarme por casualidad, y esto es lo que me he traído a casa.

長府は下関の中で一番好きなところ。理由は、ハードオフというリサイクルショップの大きい店舗があるということ。今日はたまたま寄ることが出来て、戦利品は下記の通り。

Chofu is my favorite place in Shimonoseki, because there is a big recycle shop called Hard Off. Today I was able to stop by, and this is the result.

El Disk System es posible que no funcione porque lo he comprado sin garantía, y estas máquinas se rompen con facilidad. Tengo que conseguir un alimentador o 6 pilas para probarlo, y puede que los discos que tengo también estén mal. El mundo del Disk System es un mundo incierto.

El MSX es de los baratos, uno que vendían más que nada para jugar. No tiene disquetera ni nada, pero se puede escribir Basic y se puede jugar con cartuchos (que todavía no tengo). Las teclas son de goma, me recuerda al Sinclair ZX Spectrum de 48k que tenía mi padre.

ディスクシステムは動作未確認ということで、動かない可能性高い（ディスクシステムって結構壊れると聞いている）。ACアダプタか電池を入手しないと・・・持っているディスクにもゲームが入っていない可能性あると思う。ディスクシステムって不思議だね。

MX-10の方はMSX系の中でも安い方で、主にゲーム用として発売されたらしい。フロッピードライブなどないけど、BASICが書けるしロムもプレイ出来る（まだ持っていないけど）。キーボードはゴム製で懐かしい。実家の初めてのパソコンのシンクレア・ZXスペクトラム48Kもゴム製だった。

The Disk System may not work because it wasn’t warranted to work by the shop, and Disk System units break easily. I should get an AC adapter or some batteries to try it, but the disks I have might not have games in them either… Famicom Disk System is an uncertain world.

And the MSX is among the cheapest ones, as it was meant mostly for playing games. So it has no floppy drive or anything, but you can write Basic and you can play ROM cartridges (although I still don’t have any). The keyboard is made of rubber, so it reminds me of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k my dad used to have when I was a child.

PC Engine GT / TurboExpress

Siempre quise tener una PC Engine, y este es el modelo que más se ajusta a mi persona, porque es la única que funciona sin estar enchufada a una pared, y además porque no se puede jugar a juegos en CD (esto es un +3 en mi escala). Nunca me imaginé que la encontraría por menos de 150 €, pero encontré una nuevecita este sábado por menos de 5000 yenes (unos 30 €). Creo que tuve una suerte increíble.

PCエンジンはずっと前から欲しかったけど、GTは最も自分に合っているかも知れない。なぜならば、コンセントがなくてもゲーム出来るのはこの機種だけ。また、CDのソフトが使えないのも自分にとって長所とは言える。いつも2万円ぐらいすると思うけど、なんと5千円以内でかなりいい感じの一台が手に入った！凄くラッキーだったと思う。

I have always wanted to have a PC Engine, and this is the model I think suits me best. It’s the only one that can run on batteries, and it can’t run CD games (actually that’s a +3 for me). I didn’t think I would ever find it for less than ¥20,000 or 150 €, but I got this baby (almost mint) for less than ¥5000 (about 30 €). That’s what I call a lucky day.

Ya me he comprado un par de juegos: The New Zealand Story (el del pollito) y Neutopia (un plagio muy decente del Zelda). Pero hay unos cuantos que estoy buscando baratos. Podéis ver mi lista de la compra aquí abajo.

ゲームはまだ2本しか買っていない：ニュージーランドストーリーとニュートピア（ゼルダのパクリで面白い）。下記は（安く）買っておきたいゲームのリスト。

I still only have got 2 games: The New Zealand Story and Neutopia (quite good Zelda clone). And here’s a list for the games I’d like to buy (cheap).

Lo que pasa es que parece ser que tanto el Parasol Stars como el Mizubaku Daibouken van carillos, y luego el Magical Chase parece estar en torno a los 15000 yenes, o sea unos 100 €. Menos mal que con los otros que puedo encontrar más baratos tengo para gastar centenares de pilas.

だが、「パラソルスター」と「ミズバク大冒険」はちょっと高そう。後「マジカルチェイス」は1万5千円もするらしい・・・まあ他のを買ってクリアするまで結構時間がかかるでしょう。（その時まで電池も何百本使いそう）

It looks like games like Parasol Stars or Mizubaku Daibouken aren’t cheap, and Magical Chase seems to be around ¥15,000 (around 100 €). But I have plenty of time until can I buy and play all the other games (and I’ll use hundreds of batteries too).
