Kaibun, palíndromos japoneses 回文堂

Kaibundo de Kawai Shinobu es un libro que tiene en cada página un palíndromo y un dibujo. Un palíndromo es una frase que es capicúa, que se puede leer igual del derecho que del revés. Los palíndromos en japonés se llaman kaibun, y además de ir por sílabas (hiragana) suelen ignorar pequeños matices de las letras, que podrían equivaler a perdonar los espacios y signos de puntuación en un palíndromo en español.

かわいしのぶ氏の回文堂という本には、1ページに回文と絵1つずつが載っている。回文というのは、上からでも下からでも同じように読める文のことだ。小さい文字などは普通の文字と同じ同士扱いされることが多いらしい。

Kawai Shinobu‘s Kaibundo is a book with has a palindrome and a picture on every page. A palindrome is a phrase that reads the same in either direction. Japanese palindromes are called kaibun and use the hiragana syllabary. They also usually don’t care about some aspects of Japanese characters, which would be analog to ignoring spaces and punctuation in an English palindrome.

Español: Al sonriente Tanaka le gusta el arroz con vinagre. «¡A comer, a comer!» se ausenta. El caco rápidamente apunta hacia la lejana Urawa.

English: Smiling Tanaka likes vinegared rice. «Lunch, lunch!» he goes away. The burglar swiftly points to far Urawa.

El libro es muy divertido por las frases y los dibujos, a veces muy forzados por exigencias de un guión ligeramente aleatorio. También contiene artículos en los que explica cómo se inventa los palíndromos y tonterías que le pasan en el proceso. Es un libro que va a lo que va y se lee en un ratito. ¡Me ha gustado!

この本は文章も絵も面白い。割と無作為に出てしまったシナリオに合わせた絵は素敵。回文の作り方とそのときの出来事を語るコラムも収録されている。用件に命中した本ですぐ読み切る。面白かった！

The book is very fun because of the phrases and the pictures, which are a bit forced sometimes because of the slightly random scenarios. It also has some columns explaining the process of thinking palindromes and fun things that happen when she’s at it. It’s a book that locks into its topic and doesn’t take long to read. I liked it!

digiki en directo en Apple Store

Ayer fui a una fiesta donde también pinchaba digiki, pero hoy lo estoy viendo también en el Apple Store.

昨日もイベントでdigikiがDJしてたけど、今もアップルストアでみている

Inarizushi いなり寿司

Lo que veis al lado del yakisoba es inarizushi, un tipo de sushi que no lleva pescado crudo ni lleva alga nori pero es sushi de pleno derecho porque el ingrediente esencial del sushi es el arroz.

焼きそばの隣に、いなり寿司。魚とノリが入っていなくても、すし飯が入っているからお寿司、ということらしい。

Next to the yakisoba you can see inarizushi, which is a kind of sushi that doesn’t have any raw fish or nori seaweed in it, but the essential ingredient of sushi is rice anyway.

El inarizushi está relleno de arroz de sushi mezclado con semillas de sésamo y lo que lo envuelve se llama abura-age, que no es otra cosa que tofu frito. Estos inarizushi nos los dio una compañera de Ai a la que a lo mejor recordáis de una foto jugando a la Famicom en casa. ¡Muchas gracias! Nunca había probado inarizushi tan bueno.

いなり寿司の中身はごまを混ぜた寿司飯で、外側は油揚げ。今日調べて初めて知ったけど、油揚げは豆腐を揚げたそのもの。このいなり寿司は愛の仕事の同僚にもらった。ちょっと前の写真だけど、この間ファミコンをしに家に遊びにきてくれたときのがあるよ。ありがとう！こんな旨いおいなりさんを食べたことなかった！

Inarizushi is filled with a mix of sushi rice and sesame seeds, and it’s wrapped with abura-age which is nothing but fried tofu. One of Ai’s coworkers gave us these. You might remember her from this picture playing Famicom at home. Thank you! I’d never had inarizushi as good as this.

Estas fotos son de la noche que estrenamos el regalo que nos envió nora: dos yunomi (vasos para beber té) hechos por Sumiko Miyagi, la hija de un famoso alfarero de Okinawa llamado Jiro Kinjyo. El maestro Jiro Kinjyo (que en paz descanse) fue declarado Tesoro Nacional Viviente por Japón, lo que es el máximo reconocimiento que puede recibir un artesano en este país. ¡Muchísimas gracias, nora! Nos encantan las cosas hechas a mano porque nunca son iguales, y cuando las usamos nos hacen sentir que vivimos en un mundo de personas.

この写真を撮った夜は、noraさんが贈ってくれたプレゼントの湯呑みを初めて使わせてもらった。宮城須美子さんの湯呑みで、そのお父さんは沖縄の陶芸の人間国宝、金城次郎先生でした。noraさんどうもありがとう！手作りが大好きです。使っていると人間の世界に住んでいることを思い出させてくれる。

We took these pictures on the night we first used the present nora sent us. They are two yunomi (Japanese tea cups) hand crafted by Sumiko Miyagi, daughter of famous Okinawan ceramist Jiro Kinjyo. Master Jiro Kinjyo (may his soul rest in peace) was given the title of Living National Treasure, which is the highest acknowledgement a Japanese artisan can get. Thanks a lot, nora! We love hand crafted stuff, and when we use them we feel that we live in a human world.

Conos gigantes 巨大ロードコーン

Viendo esta foto de Héctor me he acordado de los conos gigantes que vi esta semana en el aparcamiento de una biblioteca. A uno de ellos hasta le viene pequeña la «ropa».

エクトルのブログでこの写真を見たら、今週図書館の駐車所で見かけたでかいロードコーンを思い出した。

When I saw this photo at Héctor’s blog, I remembered the giant traffic cones I saw this week at a library’s parking lot.
