Fukuoka Game Festival 福岡ゲームフェスティバル

El fin de semana pasado tuvo lugar en Fukuoka un evento que tenía como objetivo aumentar la visibilidad de la relativamente potente industria del videojuego de Fukuoka y Kyushu: Fukuoka Game Festival.

先週末、元気な福岡と九州のゲーム業界の認知度をあげることを目的にしたイベントがあった：福岡ゲームフェスティバル。

Last weekend an event took place in Fukuoka with the aim of giving the quite active Fukuoka and Kyushu video games industry more visibility: the Fukuoka Game Festival.

イベントは下記の4つのパートに分けられる。

キャラクターデザイン体験コーナー
福岡ゲーム産業コーナー

It had 4 parts:

An exhibition of design originals by people from the region
Machines ready for trying games made around here
Some computers ready for you to design your own character
Information about some local videogame companies

Como estaba prohibido hacer fotos de los diseños (bien por la organización, restando alcance al evento) paso directamente a los 6 juegos que había para probar, de los que la mitad eran para PSP, y de los tres restantes dos eran juegos de anime para máquinas de sobremesa (Naruto y One Piece). El único juego de DS que se podía probar era la cuarta entrega del Profesor Layton: Majin no Fue.

ゲームグラフィック原画の所が撮影禁止になっていてイベントや業界の認知度が上がりにくくてもったいない。と思いつつソフト体験コーナーの様子を見に行った。6つのゲームの中半分はPSP用で、DSの「レイトン教授と魔神の笛」を除くと残り2つは据え置き機用のアニメゲーム（NARUTOとワンピース）だった。

As it was forbidden to take pictures at the design originals exhibition (a very poor way to increase visibility for your event or market) I went on to the demo machines place. Of the 6 games available, half of them were for the PSP. The other 3 were the DS’s fourth installment in the Professor Layton series (Majin no Fue) and 2 console anime games: Naruto and One Piece.

En estos ordenadores, que son iguales que los que usan para hacer los juegos en las empresas participantes, se podía colorear un personaje y verlo moverse en el videojuego. Parece que a los niños y estudiantes les encantó.

このパソコンはゲーム会社で制作に使われるのと同じで、キャラクターデザインのカラーリングをしてみたらゲーム内で自分の絵が動いているところが見られる。子供と学生さんで人気だったみたい。

At this computers –which are the same ones they use for work at videogame companies– one could color a character and then see it in action inside the videogame. Children and students loved it.

Había un montón de paneles con láminas expuestas llenas de información sobre las empresas de videojuegos de la región. Este es Akihiro Hino, el jefe de Level 5. Su empresa es famosa gracias a los juegos del Profesor Layton y por haber desarrollado para Square Enix Dragon Quest VIII y IX.

福岡と九州のゲーム会社についての情報が展示してあった。写真のはレベルファイブの日野晃博社長。この会社はレイトン教授シリーズと、スクエアエニックスに頼まれて開発したドラゴンクエストVIIとIXで有名になった。

There were lots of panels showing information about the region’s videogame companies. This is Akihiro Hino, the boss of Level 5, famous for the Professor Layton series and for developing Dragon Quest VIII and IX for Square Enix.

La movida fue pequeña (lo que veis en la primera foto es casi todo) pero estuvo muy bien ver colaboración entre la Universidad de Kyushu, varias entidades gubernamentales de Fukuoka y Kyushu, y la GFF que por cierto es una asociación de empresas de videojuegos que trabajan en Kyushu. Parece que quieren hacer de Fukuoka el Hollywood de los videojuegos. ¿Crees que lo conseguirán?

一番上の写真で見えるように小さいイベントだったけど、九州大学と福岡・九州のいくつかの行政機関とGFFの協力が見えて面白かった。ちなみにGFFは福岡・九州のゲーム会社が集まる協会で、福岡をゲーム産業のハリウッドにしたいらしい。出来ると思う？

The event wasn’t big (you can see most of it in the first picture) but it was good to see some cooperation among Kyushu University, some government entities from the region, and the GFF. The GFF by the way is an association which groups videogame companies working in Fukuoka and Kyushu. They want to turn Fukuoka into the videogame industry’s Hollywood. Do you think they will make it?

Cafe del Candy カフェデルキャンディ

Cafe del Candy es ahora mismo el mejor restaurante español que conocemos en Fukuoka. Tampoco hemos ido a todos los que hay, pero este no está nada mal.

カフェデルキャンディは知ってる中で福岡の一番いいスペイン料理のお店。福岡にあるのは全部回ってないけどここは全然悪くない。

Cafe del Candy is the best Spanish restaurant we know in Fukuoka right now. We haven’t went to that many, but this one’s not bad at all.

La tortilla de patatas viene con alioli y hierbas por encima. En España te la sirven normalmente sola, pero también es verdad que en España no dan tortilla en restaurantes sino normalmente solo en bares, cafeterías y sitios de menú del día. Ya que aquí están sirviendo tortilla en un restaurante, les dejaremos que se tomen unas licencias. Por supuesto, gustó tanto a nuestro equipo español como al japonés.

ジャガイモオムレツはアリオリ（ニンニクとオリーブオイルを使ったマヨネーズに似たもの）とハーブが付いてた。スペインでは何のソースも付かないけど、レストランで出るような料理じゃないし、あえてレストランで出してるんだからちょっときれいにしてもいいね。スペイン人チームも日本人チームも美味しいと言ってた。

Spanish omelet in this place comes with aioli, a sauce similar to mayonnaise, and some herbs. Both our Japanese team and our Spanish team but in Spain you don’t usually get it with a sauce. However it’s not a speciality restaurants would offer (it’s more of a snack) so it’s OK if a restaurant wants to arrange it a bit.

Las gambas al ajillo (y los champiñones, que eran muy parecidos) eran más o menos lo que nos esperábamos. Nadie se cansó de mojar pan.

海老のニンニク焼きはうまかった。油にパンをつけたら凄く美味しかった！

Garlic shrimp (and the very similar garlic mushrooms) were very good, and we couldn’t get enough of dipping bread in the tasty oil.

Patatas bravas. Esta vez no muy diferentes de las que te darían en un bar. Puede que lo de la tortilla fuera porque a algunos extranjeros (japoneses) la tortilla sin nada les puede parecer «desnuda» pero las patatas bravas, como ya llevan salsa, se han quedado igual que estaban.

辛いソースのフライドポテト。スペインのバーの美味しさ。オムレツと違ってアレンジされてないのは、多分オムレツを「裸」で出したくなかったからなのかな（そのままで美味しいのに）。

Spicy potatoes. Not very different from the ones you’d get at a Spanish bar. Maybe they don’t want to serve the omelet «naked» (though thatt’s general and equally yummy), but they are OK with these potatoes because the original comes with a sauce too.

La única paella que parecía ser de carne era el arroz con costra, pero nos sorprendió porque a pesar de venir en una cazuela en vez de en una sartén (paella) el huevo no estaba muy hecho, con lo que ni paella ni arroz con costra.

パエリア（本当は「パエヤ」）のメニューの中から唯一肉入ってそうなやつを頼んでみた。アロス・コン・コストラって普通は肉と野菜が具で、玉子とじみたいな感じでオムライスっぽくなるはずだが、まずご飯がフライパンじゃなくてお鍋だった。アロス・コン・コストラをお鍋で作ることもあるけど、玉子がほぼ生のままで出すと何のためにお鍋にしたか不明。ちなみにパエヤってフライパンという意味です。

The only paella that looked like it should have meat was arroz con costra, but while it didn’t come in a frying pan (what we call a paella), the egg wasn’t well cooked. So it wasn’t exactly paella or arroz con costra.

Y lo peor es que llevaba (y olía a) pescado, con lo que Magí se quedó sin probarla. Esto ya era cualquier cosa menos arroz con costra, pero malo no estaba tampoco. Aunque me deja bastante a medias que no haya ni una paella de carne, porque son las que más me gustan. Por otro lado, el ambiente del restaurante está muy bien (podéis ver fotos en el blog de Takahin) y es bastante recomendable como restaurante español en Japón. さらに具も匂いも魚介類で、マジが食べれなかった。全然アロス・コン・コストラじゃなくないですか。どんぶり物みたいな感じで美味しかったけど、お店にお肉のパエヤのメニューがないのはちょっと寂しい。一番好きなのに。一方、お店の雰囲気がとても良くて（たかひんのブログに写真あり）おすすめ出来るお店です。下記は住所と地図へのリンクです。

The whole thing was smelling like it had a lot of fish (which it had) so Magí didn’t have any of it. Definitely not arroz con costra, but not bad either. It feels a bit incomplete that no rice dish in their menu is a meat paella, as they are the ones we like best. Instalación de arte interactivo インタラクティブアートインスタレーション

En Studio Apartment Kichi vimos una instalación de arte interactivo que me interesó mucho.

スタジオアパートメント基地で、とても面白かったインタラクティブアートインスタレーションを見てきた。

At Studio Apartment Kichi we saw an interactive art installation that we liked quite a lot.

Son unos discos giratorios con unos LED que reaccionan al sonido de la sala.

回転する円盤に乗せた音に反応するLEDです。

They are spinning disks, with LEDs that react to sound on them.

Todo está hecho con un pequeño microprocesador Microchip PIC 16F88, un reloj externo (megahercios, ya sabéis), unos cuantos LED, un sensor de sonido (micrófono) y una sola resistencia para ajustar la salida del sensor. Me impresionó lo minimalista del circuito. Además, para hacer todo esto no se ha usado ordenador excepto para programar la CPU (en ensamblador). Y por cierto, el motor que hay debajo de cada disco para hacer girar todo lo de arriba funciona aparte del circuito.

全てが小さなCPUであるMicrochipのPIC 16F88と、外付け時計(動作MHzを指定)と、LED何本かと、音感知器（マイク）と、そのセンサーの出力を調整するための抵抗器1本で出来ている。回路がミニマルで感心した。またこれを作るのに、パソコンを触るのはCPUのプログラミング（アセンブリ）のときだけ。ちなみに円盤の下にあるモーターは回路と別行動です。

Everything is made with a little microprocessor (Microchip’s PIC 16F88) an external clock (setting MHz, you know), some LEDs, a sound sensor (microphone) and a single resistor to adjust the sensor’s output. I was impressed by the simplicity of the circuit. And to make all of this, one only has to use a computer to program the CPU (in assembly). By the way, the motor that spins below every disk works in an independent way.

El ambiente con estos cacharros en funcionamiento era muy divertido e inspirador, y nos gustó mucho a todos. El autor es el taiwanés Chiang Chen Wei, también conocido como Johnny. ¡Me cayó muy bien y espero poder ver más instalaciones suyas! También me dan ganas de retomar lo del PIC, ahora que se pueden programar por USB y sin necesidad de usar Windows.

インスタレーションが動作中の空間は不思議で面白かった。みんな楽しかった。作者は台湾人の江振維氏（Chiang Chen Wei、ジョニー）。いい人だったし、今後のインスタレーションも是非見たい！PIC作業を再会したくもなった。昔と違って、今はUSBで書き込めるし、Windowsを使わなくても出来るらしい。

The space where the installation was working felt very mysterious and was a lot of fun to all of us. The author is Chiang Chen Wei (a.k.a. Johnny) from Taiwan. I liked him and hope I can see more of his installations! I also felt like retaking the PIC myself, now that they can be programmed by USB, and there’s no need to use Windows.

Studio Apartment Kichi 基地プロジェクト

Al lado de la estación de JR Sasabaru hay un edificio de apartamentos que han reformado pensando en que vivan artistas. Se llama Studio Apartment Kichi.

JR笹原駅の近所にアーティストのためにしてリフォームされたアパートがある。名前はスタジオアパートメントKICHI。

Very near JR Sasabaru Station, there’s an apartment building that has been reformed with artists in mind. The name is Studio Apartment Kichi.

El sábado había una fiesta con actuaciones musicales y exposiciones de arte, y fuimos con unos cuantos amigos.

土曜日は音楽のライブやアートの展示会を含めたパーティがあって友達と一緒に行ってきた。

Last Saturday there was a party with music performances and art exhibitions, and we showed up with some friends.

Las actuaciones que pudimos escuchar iban desde el jazz hasta algo parecido a los King Crimson más experimentales. Para más detalle mirad lo que posteé a pepinismo instantáneo.

聴けた演奏はジャズからキング・クリムゾンみたいな実験的な音楽まで幅広かった。詳しくはpepinismo instantáneoに投稿したエントリーを見て下さい。

The music we were able to listen ranged from jazz to something near the most experimental King Crimson. For more detail, take a look to what I posted at pepinismo instantáneo.

Cuando empezó a caer la noche el edificio empezó a brillar con luz propia.

When it started getting dark, the building itself started to shine.

Y subimos al último piso para ver algunas exposiciones e instalaciones que habían montado.

そして展示会やインスタレーションを見るために最上階に上がった。

And we went to the top floor to take a look at the exhibitions and art installations.

Aguardiente de Orujo Hijoputa

En el restaurante español donde cenamos ayer tenían de adorno una botella vacía de un orujo de Asturias llamado Hijoputa. ¡Muy interesante!

昨日スペイン料理のお店で夜食べたら、空っぽのお酒の瓶が飾ってあった。スペインのアストゥリアスの蒸留酒で、ラベルに「Hijoputa」と書いてあった。他人に言ってはいけない侮辱なので気をつけましょう。でも面白かった！

At the Spanish restaurant we had supper at yesterday, there was an empty bottle of an Asturian (Spanish) aguardiente with the very interesting name Hijoputa. Fill in the gaps for the English meaning: «son of a …».
