Hatsumōde 2010 初詣2010

Este fin de semana hicimos en Dazaifu Tenmangū nuestra primera visita del año al templo, lo que en japonés se llama hatsumōde. Para mí no es ningún ritual religioso sino una cosa social y casi turística.

先週末は初詣に太宰府天満宮に行ってきました。僕にとって、宗教的な儀式より社会的、ほぼ観光的なことです。

Last weekend we went to Dazaifu Tenmangū for hatsumōde, which means the first visit to a temple every year. It’s no religious ritual to me, but more of a social or even tourism thing.

Los papelitos de la suerte (omikuji) te dicen la suerte que vas a tener este año. Yo soy propenso a acordarme solo de lo que me interesa, de manera que solo esa parte me hace efecto. ¡Por cierto, a Ai le salió «gran suerte» (大吉)!

おみくじに関しては、いいことばかり覚えることが多い。こうすると、自分の思いや考えに影響するのはそれだけ。ところで愛のは大吉だった！

Fortune paper strips (omikuji) tell things about your luck for this year. I’m prone to remember only good stuff, so it’s the only stuff that affects me. By the way Ai’s was «great luck» (大吉)!

A mí me salió solo «suerte» (吉) pero leyendo los diferentes apartados que están escritos en japonés antiguo me di cuenta de que mi nivel de japonés ha mejorado bastante, así que estoy contento. Por ejemplo, traduzco alguno rapidito:

Deseos: Se concederán rápido y con alegría. Sé agradecido con la gente.
Objetos perdidos: Los encontrarás donde menos lo esperabas.
Viajes: No es bueno apresurarse en demasía.
Estudios: Prohibidos los descuidos. Tendrás suerte en exámenes de ingreso.
Búsqueda de trabajo: Con ayuda de la familia se arreglará lo del empleo.

僕のは普通に吉だったけど、難しい日本語で書いてある運勢の説明を読んでみたら自分の日本語力が上がってることが分かって嬉しかった。例えば：

願望：早く叶いて喜びあり人に感謝せよ
失物：思いがけぬ処より出る
旅行：あまり急ぐは宜しからず
学問：油断は禁物　試験入学吉
求職：家族の助けありて、職ととのう

I only got «luck» (吉), but when I was reading the specific luck for various things (which is written in old Japanese) I was happy to realize my Japanese has got better. Here are some of the aspects:

Wishes: Will come true soon and with joy. Be thankful to people.
Lost articles: Will come out of places you would not think of.
Travel: It is not good to hurry.
Studies: No negligence will be permitted. Luck at entry exams.
Job seeking: Will be in order with help from the family.

También escribí un deseo en un ema (estas tablas de madera) y lo colgué con los de todo el mundo. ¡Estuvo muy bien el hatsumōde sobre todo porque hizo muy buen tiempo!

絵馬も書いてみた。天気がよくて気持ちいい初詣だった！

I also wrote a wish on an ema (these wooden boards) and hung it with everyone else’s. I loved this year’s hatsumōde because weather was great!

Viaje a Japón y Fukuoka 日本・福岡旅行

El mes pasado mis amigos de España Fernando, Adler y Pepi vinieron de viaje a Japón y pasaron por Fukuoka.

先月スペインから友達のFernandoとAdlerとPepiは日本で旅行して、福岡にも遊びにきてくれた。

Last month my friends Fernando, Adler and Pepi from Spain came to Japan and even to Fukuoka.

Semillas de soja de Saifu Mameya 宰府まめや

La última vez que estuve en Dazaifu con unos amigos españoles, me compré una bolsa de semillas de soja cubiertas de mentaiko (hueva picante de abadejo). Muy buenas para el picoteo.

この間スペインからの友達を太宰府に連れて行ったときに、明太子味の豆を買ってきた。おつまみに最適。

Last time I went to Dazaifu with some Spanish friends, I got myself some mentaiko (spicy roe of pollock) flavored soybeans. They make great snacks.

En la tienda tienen decenas y decenas de tipos de semillas de soja, tanto dulces como saladas, y puedes probar las que quieras hasta que sepas cuales te gustan más.

お店に行ったら豆の数えきれない種類が並んでいて、試食しながら選んでもいいのが特長。

At the shop hey have soybeans of many flavors and you can try some before deciding which one you like best.

La tienda se llama Saifu Mameya y está en el camino desde la estación de tren Nishitetsu Dazaifu al templo sintoísta Dazaifu Tenmangu. No os la perdáis si venís a hacer turismo a este sitio tan bonito que es Dazaifu.

お店の名前は「宰府まめや」で、西鉄駅から太宰府天満宮までの途中にある。たまたま太宰府に行ったら、寄ってみるのもいいかもしれない。

The shop’s name is Saifu Mameya and it’s on the way from the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station and the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shinto shrine. Don’t miss it if you make a trip to Dazaifu (and you really should).

Domador de monos 猿まわし

En Dazaifu Tenmangu tuvimos la oportunidad de ver a un gran domador de monos. Su estilo es muy divertido porque él también se deja domar por el mono.

太宰府天満宮で上手な猿まわしを見れた。人間が猿にもまわされるというスタイルで、面白かった。

At Dazaifu Tenmangu we had the chance to see a very good monkey tamer. His style includes himself being tamed by the monkey.

Y su mono Monta también hace el mono.

お猿のモンタくんも、猿らしいことをする。

And his monkey Monta does monkey-ish things too.

Pude hablar un poquito con el hombre después de la actuación. Es un hombre muy alegre aunque en su camiseta ponga «cada día es un infierno».

ショーの後、人間の方と少しお話しできて嬉しかった。「毎日が地獄です」というTシャツを来ていても陽気で親切な方でした。

I was able to chat a little with the man after te show. He’s a very cheerful man despite the fact he was wearing a T-shirt that says «every day is hell».

El buey de Dazaifu Tenmangu — 太宰府天満宮の牛

Cuando el poeta, investigador y político Sugawara no Michizane falleció en Dazaifu en el año 903, pensaron enterrarlo en la capital. Pero el buey que tiraba del carro que lo llevaba se paró a las afueras de Dazaifu y no hubo quien lo moviera, así que decidieron enterrarlo allí interpretando que tal era su último deseo expresado a través del buey.

詩人、学者、政治家でもあった菅原道真が太宰府で西暦903年に亡くなった。都で墓を作ることが決まっていたが、遺体を運んでいた牛が町のはずれで動かなくなった。それは菅原道真の最後の願いと思われて、その場所がお墓になった。

When poet, scholar and politician Sugawara no Michizane died in Dazaifu in year 903, they were planning to have him buried in the capital. But the cow that was pulling the car that was transporting the body sat down just after leaving the town, and they decided to bury him there, interpreting the cow’s behavior as the master’s last wish.

Su tumba se ha convertido en el Dazaifu Tenmangu (ahora sus ciruelos están en flor) uno de los templos sintoístas más importantes de la Isla de Kyushu cuyo símbolo es un buey. A mí me recuerda al Torico de Teruel.

そのお墓が今九州の中でもかなり有名な太宰府天満宮になっていて（ちなみに、今梅が咲いている）座った牛の像を良く見かける。あるスペインの牛の像を思い出してしまう。

His tomb has become Dazaifu Tenmangu (its plum trees are blossoming right now), one of the most important Shinto shrines in Kyushu Island. Its symbol is this sitting cow. It reminds me of a certain Spanish monument.
