Sakuranbo 桜ん坊

Estábamos cerca del Parque Ōhori (al lado de la estación de Tōjinmachi) y teníamos hambre, así que buscamos un sitio para cenar. El Tōjin Udon y el Yabukō están bien, pero nos apetecía probar algo nuevo. El resultado: Sakuranbo.

大濠公園の近く（唐人町駅）でお腹が空いて、ご飯を食べるところを探していた。當仁うどんも藪幸も美味しいけど、なんとなく新しいお店に行きたかった。結果は：桜ん坊発見。

We were near Ōhori Park (next to Tōjinmachi Station) and we were hungry, so we were looking for a place to eat. Tōjin Udon and Yabukō are good, but we felt like trying a new place. The result: Sakuranbo.

Es un cuchitril muy acogedor. Lo que veis es casi todo lo que hay. Lo lleva un abuelo que hace todo. Además, no hay que pedir porque solo dan una cosa: el menú del día que vale 500 yenes.

ぼろ可愛かった。写真で見えるのはほぼ全て。おじいちゃんが一人でやっている。500円の日替わり定食しか出ないので、注文は要らない。

It’s a cheesy place in a cute way. What you see is almost everything there is. There’s a grandpa who does everything. And you don’t have to order because there’s only one thing: the 500 yen meal.

Nos tocó salmón a la plancha con setas, y venía con su arroz, su sopa de miso, un poco de tofu y un platito de ensaladilla. Estaba bueno.

日替わりのおかずはあんかけ鮭で、ご飯も、お味噌汁も、豆腐も、ポテトサラダの小鉢まで付いていた。美味しかった。

It consisted on salmon with mushrooms, and rice, and miso soup, and a little tofu, and some potato salada. It was good.

Nintendo DSi LL

La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de probar una Nintendo DSi LL (también conocida como DSi XL) en mi propia casa. Le puse el The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks y jugué unos minutos para darme cuenta de que es muy cómoda para jugar en casa. De todas formas, yo lo que quiero es que saquen una DS más pequeña, o mejor: una máquina tipo Game Boy micro pero con tienda de juegos online.

先週ニンテンドーDSi LLを家で触ってみることが出来た。早速ゼルダの伝説大地の汽笛を5分ほどやってみたら、家で使うのにやりやすいことが分かった。それより、出して欲しいのは小さいDSか、ダウンロード販売ソフトのあるゲームボーイミクロみたいな機種。

Last week I got the chance to try a Nintendo DSi LL (aka DSi XL) at home. I started The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and played some minutes to realize the machine feels very comfortable for playing at home. Anyway, what I want is a smalled DS. Or even better: a Game Boy micro with an online games store.

La DSi LL en cuestión es la que compré como premio para el sorteo que hice cuando ganamos el concurso de Fit’s, que le tocó a mi nuevo amigo orkosland. Fue muy amable dejándome probarla. Por supuesto, no tiene ningún píxel muerto. ¡A disfrutarla!

触ってみたDSi LLは、フィッツのコンテストを勝ったときに行った抽選の賞品として買ったものだ。このきっかけで仲良くなった当選者はorkoslandだった。DSi LLを開けさせてもらってありがとう！もちろん、ドット落ちがなかった。いっぱい遊んで下さいね！

This DSi LL is the one I bought as a price for the raffle I did when we won the Fit’s contest, which went to my new friend orkosland. He was very nice to let me try it. Of course, it has no dead pixels. Enjoy it!

La consola se la mandé con un cargador USB porque los cargadores de Nintendo no funcionan con enchufes de 220 V y por lo tanto no valen en España. Yo hace tiempo que uso uno igual porque paso de llevar encima un enchufe para cada cacharro. Por cierto, los chicles del concurso todavía no los tengo. ¡Espero poder enviarlos pronto a los 10 ganadores!

本体と一緒にUSB充電ケーブルを送った。任天堂の充電器はいつになっても220Vのコンセントに対応しないのでスペインでは使えない。僕も前から同じ物を使っている。いつも持ち歩いている機械の充電器を全部運ぶのは大変なので、USBケーブルだけ使っている。ところで、コンテストの賞品のガムはまだ持っていない。早く10人の当選者に送りたいね！

I sent him the machine along with an USB charging cable, because Nintendo chargers aren’t compatible with 220 V outlets and so they can’t be used in Spain. I’ve been using the same one for a while now, because taking all my gadget’s chargers with me felt too stupid. By the way, I still haven’t got the chewing gum. Hope I can send it to the 10 winners soon!

Ya tengo el Dragon Quest VI ドラゴンクエストVIを買ってきた

Como buen dragonquestero me he comprado esta versión para DS del Dragon Quest VI de Super Famicom el día de su salida. Pero de las tres conversiones a DS, creo que este es el que ha salido peor parado. Precisamente por la calidad gráfica del producto original. Tendrían que haberse dejado de chorradas y convertirlo sin cambiar casi nada, como hicieron con el Chrono Trigger que ahora es de la misma empresa y además es un juego muy comparable a este del que os hablo hoy. ¿Por qué habrá acabado así?

スーパーファミコンの「ドラゴンクエストVI」のニンテンドーDS向け移植版を発売日に買ってきた。DS移植版の中から、今回は一番寂しいと思う。理由の一つは、元のDQ6のグラフィックの良さ。クロノトリガーみたいにそのまま移植したらよかったのに！同じ会社だし、比較が付く商品だと思う。なぜDQ6のDS版がこんなことに？

I just got today the Nintendo DS version of that Super Famicom game, Dragon Quest VI. Among the 3 DS remakes, I’d say this is the one which got the worst result. One reason is, the original game’s graphic quality was very good. They should have stuck to the original like they did with Chrono Trigger, which is a comparable product from the same company. Why did this remake end up this way?

En este cartucho nos espera lo mismo que se vio hace 15 años en Super Famicom: menús sencillos y casi arcaicos, subir niveles, historietas sencillas, monstruos graciosos, y personajes que parecen salidos de Dragon Ball.

内容は15年前のSFCソフトと同じ：やや古いメニュー、レベル上げ、簡単なお話、面白いモンスターと、ドラゴンボールに出てきそうなキャラクター。

What waits for us in this cartridge is the same as in the 15 years old Super Famicom version: classic, almost archaic menues, grinding, funny monsters and characters that look like they are from Dragon Ball.

The game comes with a Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II Legend card, an arcade game I don’t play.

He hecho un recuento de todos los juegos de Dragon Quest que tengo por casa. En el vídeo de aquí abajo los voy pasando uno por uno, y habrá una sonrisa para el primero que ponga un comentario con un juego de la serie Dragon Quest para Nintendo DS que incluso ha salido en occidente, pero me falta.

Y aquí está el anuncio japonés del juego, que se grabó en España en diciembre del año pasado y en el que los personajes hablan en español. Abajo enlazo la versión larga, en la que hablan mucho, y también el making of del anuncio, que se grabó en España el año pasado. Se sabe que desde hace tiempo Dragon Quest tiene influencia de España. Se sabe que Yūji Horii ha viajado varias veces a España para inspirarse.

そしてこれは日本のCM。去年12月、スペインで撮影されたけど。台詞もスペイン語そのままだ。この下のリンクは長いバージョンと、またそのメイキング。昔からドラゴンクエストにスペインの影響があった。アイデアを見つけるために、堀井雄二氏がスペインには何回も旅しているらしい。

And here’s the Japanese commercial for the game, which was recorded in Spain last December. The characters are speaking in Spanish, too. Below I’m linking the long version of the commercial and the «making» movie. It’s known that Spain has long had an influence on Dragon Quest. Yūji Horii has traveled to Spain several times for inspiration.

Hatsumōde 2010 初詣2010

Este fin de semana hicimos en Dazaifu Tenmangū nuestra primera visita del año al templo, lo que en japonés se llama hatsumōde. Para mí no es ningún ritual religioso sino una cosa social y casi turística.

先週末は初詣に太宰府天満宮に行ってきました。僕にとって、宗教的な儀式より社会的、ほぼ観光的なことです。

Last weekend we went to Dazaifu Tenmangū for hatsumōde, which means the first visit to a temple every year. It’s no religious ritual to me, but more of a social or even tourism thing.

Los papelitos de la suerte (omikuji) te dicen la suerte que vas a tener este año. Yo soy propenso a acordarme solo de lo que me interesa, de manera que solo esa parte me hace efecto. ¡Por cierto, a Ai le salió «gran suerte» (大吉)!

おみくじに関しては、いいことばかり覚えることが多い。こうすると、自分の思いや考えに影響するのはそれだけ。ところで愛のは大吉だった！

Fortune paper strips (omikuji) tell things about your luck for this year. I’m prone to remember only good stuff, so it’s the only stuff that affects me. By the way Ai’s was «great luck» (大吉)!

A mí me salió solo «suerte» (吉) pero leyendo los diferentes apartados que están escritos en japonés antiguo me di cuenta de que mi nivel de japonés ha mejorado bastante, así que estoy contento. Por ejemplo, traduzco alguno rapidito:

Deseos: Se concederán rápido y con alegría. Sé agradecido con la gente.
Objetos perdidos: Los encontrarás donde menos lo esperabas.
Viajes: No es bueno apresurarse en demasía.
Estudios: Prohibidos los descuidos. Tendrás suerte en exámenes de ingreso.
Búsqueda de trabajo: Con ayuda de la familia se arreglará lo del empleo.

僕のは普通に吉だったけど、難しい日本語で書いてある運勢の説明を読んでみたら自分の日本語力が上がってることが分かって嬉しかった。例えば：

願望：早く叶いて喜びあり人に感謝せよ
失物：思いがけぬ処より出る
旅行：あまり急ぐは宜しからず
学問：油断は禁物　試験入学吉
求職：家族の助けありて、職ととのう

I only got «luck» (吉), but when I was reading the specific luck for various things (which is written in old Japanese) I was happy to realize my Japanese has got better. Here are some of the aspects:

Wishes: Will come true soon and with joy. Be thankful to people.
Lost articles: Will come out of places you would not think of.
Travel: It is not good to hurry.
Studies: No negligence will be permitted. Luck at entry exams.
Job seeking: Will be in order with help from the family.

También escribí un deseo en un ema (estas tablas de madera) y lo colgué con los de todo el mundo. ¡Estuvo muy bien el hatsumōde sobre todo porque hizo muy buen tiempo!

絵馬も書いてみた。天気がよくて気持ちいい初詣だった！

I also wrote a wish on an ema (these wooden boards) and hung it with everyone else’s. I loved this year’s hatsumōde because weather was great!

Tōjin Udon 當仁うどん

El martes pasado entramos en un restaurante que es nuevo para nosotros, pero que lleva funcionando tres generaciones.

火曜日は初めてこのお店に入ってみた。三代も続いているお店らしい。

On Thursday we went to this restaurant for the first time. It seems to have been serving for 3 generations.

Tienen un estilo bastante personal de hacer el udon. Estaba muy bueno.

ここのうどんは独特だった。美味しかった。

They have a personal way of making udon. And it was quite good.

Mi pescado rebozado estaba un poco quemado por fuera, como me gusta a mí. Y el huevo frito parece más español que japonés.

僕の白身フライのパン粉がちょっとこげてた。本当はその方が好き。そして、ここの目玉焼きは日本の目玉焼きよりスペインの目玉焼きに見える。

My deep fried fish was a little burned on the outside, like I like it. And the fried egg looked more like a Spanish egg than a Japanese egg.

La «decoración» del sitio también es muy interesante, y me llamó especialmente la atención cómo lo tienen montado para tener disponibles mesas con tatami además de mesas con sillas en tan poco espacio.

お店の「インテリア」も面白い。特に気に入ったのは、狭いのに座敷もテーブルも選べるようにしてあるところ。

The place’s «decoration» is very interesting too. I was amazed at how they found space to have both tatami tables and chair tables at such a narrow place.
