WordCamp Fukuoka 2011

El sábado me lo pasé muy bien en el WordCamp Fukuoka 2011, un evento sobre WordPress (el software con el que funciona este blog) en el que conocí buena gente, escuché conferencias interesantes, y yo también di una conferencia sobre cómo decidir qué podcast hacer, y cómo distribuirlo con WordPress.

土曜日は、このブログを動かしているソフトウェアWordPress関連イベントWordCamp Fukuoka 2011で面白い人に出会ったり、勉強になる講演を聞いたり、そして自分も講演したりしてきました。僕のテーマはポッドキャストの形式などの企画とWordPressを使った簡単な配信方法でした。

Last Saturday I had a blast at WordCamp Fukuoka 2011, an event about WordPress (the software that runs this blog) where I got to meet great people, attend to interesting lectures, and I also did a lecture about planning what kind of podcast to do, and how to distribute it using WordPress.

En la ceremonia de apertura se presentó la mascota oficial de WordPress para Japón, que aparte de no tener nombre todavía no se sabe si es un perro o un gato u otro animal, pero nos pareció bastante mono a todos. Esta es una taza muy chula que me regalaron (¡gracias!) y lleva la mascota dibujada en el fondo.

開会式でWordPressの日本公式キャラクターが発表された。まだ名前も犬か猫か別のポケモンかはっきりしないけど、みんなかわいいと思った。これはそのキャラクターの柄が入った、いただいたマグカップです（ありがとうございます！）。

At the opening ceremony, Japan’s official WordPress mascot was revealed. It still doesn’t have a name and we don’t now if it’s a cat or a dog, but everyone agreed that it’s cute. This is a mug I got (thank you!). It has the mascot printed on the bottom.

La fiesta también estuvo muy bien, incluso hubo una tarta con la mascota dibujada bien grande. Estaba todo muy bueno y pude conocer bastante gente.

懇親会も楽しかった。キャラクターが描いてあったでかいケーキまであった。食べ物は全部美味しくて、いろんな人と話せてよかったです。

I enjoyed the party a lot too. There was even a large cake with the mascot on it. Everything was yummy and I got to talk to a lot of people.

Japoneschan ポネスちゃん

Estas últimas semanas he estado actualizando el blog menos de lo normal porque tenía un pequeño proyecto entre manos. ¿Os acordáis de nombrejapones? Hice este servicio de Twitter para que la gente pudiera consultar fácilmente su nombre en letras japonesas. Pero como me gustó y vi que había interés (en poco tiempo tenía más seguidores que yo en Twitter), no me conformé con eso. Así que hoy hago público un servicio más completo, con más opciones a la hora de transcribir, y que además está conectado con servicios externos como Traducciones Google o el diccionario Hispadic.

ここ何週間、ちょっとしたプロジェクトを進めていてブログの更新を控えめにしてきた。nombrejaponesのこと、覚えてますか？このTwitterサービスを開発したのはスペイン語圏のみんなが名前のカタカナ表記を調べられるためだった。それは好評で（しばらくしたら僕よりTwitterフォロワーが多くなってた）僕も楽しくて、もっと役に立つ物にできるんだろうか？と思って、開発を続けた。結果は、スペインやスペイン語に興味を持っている日本人にでも便利なカタカナ変換サービスなのかもしれない。さらに、Google翻訳や日本語→スペイン語辞書Hispadicというサービスと連動している。

The last weeks I’ve been updating the blog less than usual because I was busy with a little project. Do you remember nombrejapones? I made that Twitter service so that people could search how to write their Spanish names in Japanese characters. Seeing it was a success (it soon had more Twitter followers than myself) and I enjoyed making it too, I decided to make it bigger, with services interesting to Japanese people too. I also had it use external services like Google Translate or the Japanese-Spanish dictionary Hispadic (Spanish translation of EDICT).

Se llama Japoneschan y espero que os guste el personaje. Simboliza el carácter de este servicio que presento, que sabe calcular las transcripciones de forma casi mágica pero no entiende el significado de las palabras (para eso está Traducciones Google). El diseño es de Koga Takahiro, un buen amigo que también se encargó del diseño de Escucha español. ¡Esperamos que os sea útil y que lo paséis bien jugando con él! Muchas gracias a todos los amigos que me han ayudado a lo largo del camino, y por último un par de cosas:

Ojo que no se ve bien en Internet Explorer.

名前はポネスちゃん。キャラクターを気に入ってもらえると嬉しい。提供するサービスが良く表現できていると思う：魔法みたいに変換ができるけど、扱ってる言葉の意味は理解できてない（そのためにGoogle翻訳がある）。デザインは聞くスペイン語のデザインも担当している親友の古賀隆広が担当してくれてる。手伝ってくれた友達のみんな、ありがとう！最後に二言：

The name is Japoneschan, and I hope you like our mascot. I think it expresses some traits of the service – he can write Spanish into katakana in an almost magic way, but he isn’t actually understanding what’s written (there’s Google Translate for that). Design is by Koga Takahiro, a good friend of mine who is also in charge of the design for Escucha español. We hope you find it useful and have fun playing with it! SoftBank 2010 Summer: Twitter ソフトバンク新商品発表

Esta mañana he seguido en directo por Ustream la presentación de los nuevos modelos de Softbank (uno de los tres grandes operadores móviles de Japón) y me ha sorprendido el énfasis que ha puesto su presidente Masayoshi Son (@masason) en su pasión por Twitter. Los 14 nuevos terminales de la temporada verano 2010 vienen con una aplicación preinstalada para usar Twitter: TweetMe de Flight System Consulting. Un directivo de esta empresa es Takashi Sugiyama (@TakaFlight), un hombre de Fukuoka cn el que he hablado alguna vez y ya ha salido en este blog. La aplicación TweetMe para iPhone mola porque le puedes dictar en japonés y te lo escribe.

Casi toda la presentación ha sido sobre Twitter, y Son ha dicho muchas cosas interesantes. Por ejemplo:

Él se levanta y antes de leer el periódico lo primero que hace es leer Twitter.
El 28% de los usuarios de iPhone en Japón son usuarios de Twitter.
No tiene sentido prohibir a los menores de de 18 años usar Twitter.
No se puede prohibir que los políticos lo usen en sus campañas. Deberían usarlo porque es gratis.

Diez de los modelos presentados también vienen con un widget de twinavi, una guía para Twitter hecha por la empresa donde trabaja nuestro amigo Héctor García (@kirai), que es la empresa que lleva Twitter en Japón. Según Héctor, Twitter Japón está preparando servidores extra para prepararse para el nuevo tráfico que vendrá de Softbank.

También se ha hablado de temas como los nuevos terminales (me gusta el mirumo2), de Wi-Fi gratis y de Ustream Asia –pero hoy me conformo con contaros lo de Twitter. Ha sido muy interesante y abajo tenéis los links para ver la presentación entera en vídeo, en japonés o en inglés.

TwitMe for iPhone

今朝はソフトバンクの新製品発表をUstreamで見ていた。社長の孫正義氏(@masason)がTwitterに関して表した熱い姿勢に驚いた。発表された14台の2010年夏の全ての新端末にはTweetMeというTwitter用アプリケーションが最初から付いてくるらしい。このアプリを開発しているフライトシステムコンサルティングの取締役の一人はこのブログにいつか出たことある福岡の杉山隆志氏(@TakaFlight)。iPhone用のTweetMeは、日本語を喋ると、自分の言った事を文字にしてくれてかっこいいアプリです。

プレゼンのほとんどはTwitterの話で、孫氏が面白いことをいっぱい言っていた。例えば：

毎日起きたら新聞を見る前にもツイッターをチェックしている。
日本のiPhoneユーザーの28%がTwitterを使っている。
18歳未満にTwitterを使わせない意味がない。
選挙のとき、政治家に使わせない意味もない。無料で使えるから使わせたい。

今日発表された端末の中、10台にはtwinaviのウィジェットも付いている。twinaviは友達のHéctor García (@kirai)の会社が作っているツイッターのガイドサイト。Héctorによると、Twitter日本はソフトバンクからの新しいユーザに備えてサーバを増やしているそうです。

その他の話は新端末自体（mirumo2かわいいな）、無料Wi-FiとUstream Asia。だけど、今日はTwitter関係の話だけまとめてみました。かなり面白かった。下記にプレゼンの映像が見れるリンクを置きました。

This morning I’ve been following Softbank‘s (one of the three large Japanese mobile carriers) presentation for the new 2010 Summer models, and I’m very surprised about the passion CEO Masayoshi Son (@masason) showed about Twitter. All 14 new terminals for the 2010 summer season come with a preinstalled application for Twitter: TweetMe by Flight System Consulting. One chairman of this company is Takashi Sugiyama (@TakaFlight), a man from Fukuoka who has already been on this blog before. TweetMe for iPhone is a cool app because you can talk Japanese to it and it will type it for you.

Son said many interesting things about Twitter. To pick up a few:

When he gets up, the first thing he does is check Twitter, even before checking the newspaper.
28% of all iPhone users in Japan are Twitter users.
It has no sense to filter people younger than 18 from Twitter.
It has no sense too to ban politicians from Twitter. They should use it during elections because it is free.

Ten of the new terminals also come with a widget for twinavi, a Twitter guide made by the company where our friend Héctor García (@kirai), which is the company that’s working on Twitter in Japan. According to Héctor, Twitter Japan is getting ready extra servers to be ready for the new traffic from Softbank.

Other themes were treated too, such as the new terminals themselves (I like the mirumo2), free Wi-Fi and Ustream Asia –but today I have enough with writing about the Twitter part. It was very interesting and below are the links for watching the presentation in English or Japanese.

Twitter en el MSX でツイッター

El mallorquino Konamiman ha desarrollado un cliente para twittear desde el MSX, y desde pepinismo lo felicitamos por tan magna hazaña todoloquemolesca.

スペインのKonamimanがMSXからtwitterに投稿できるソフトを開発しました。pepinismoよりもこんな素晴らしいソフトの完成をお知らせさせていただきます。おめでとうございます！

Konamiman from Spain has developed a client to tweet from the MSX, and we’d like to congratulate him from pepinismo for his great work.

Y este es el primer tweet de la historia enviado desde un ordenador MSX. Por supuesto, usa OAuth para hacer el login, pero twittear en japonés todavía no se puede porque convertir texto japonés de MSX a UTF8 es pues problemático. Por cierto, también podéis seguir pepinismo a través de twitter y Facebook.

そしてこれは初めてMSXマイコンから送信されたつぶやきです。ログインにはもちろんOAuthを使っているけど、日本語でつぶやくのはMSXの日本語文字コードからUTF8に変換することが問題で、今のところは出来ません。ところでpepinismoはtwitterやFacebookでもフォローできます。

And this is the first tweet ever sent from an MSX computer. Of course it uses OAuth for the login, but tweeting in Japanese isn’t still supported because of the MSX Japanese text to UTF8 conversion being problematic. By the way, you can also follow pepinismo at twitter and Facebook.
