Dos hermanas se llaman María Luisa Torralba Martínez y María Yolanda Torralba Martínez. Las compañías aéreas japonesas ponen primero los dos apellidos juntos y luego el nombre, pero tienen un límite de caracteres con lo que las dos acaban llamándose TORRALBAMARTINEZ MAR. Hasta aquí, todo un poco estúpido pero ningún problema, pero de los 13 españoles que viajaban juntas fueron las únicas que tuvieron que pasar por facturación en el siguiente enlace porque al llamarse igual (que en realidad no se llaman igual, y aunque así lo fuera no es excusa) no pudieron sacarles las siguientes tarjetas de embarque en Fukuoka. Precisamente en ese enlace apenas tenían tiempo, pero después de mucho hablar yo con la azafata que nos atendió en Fukuoka, conseguí que les pusieran escolta en Nagoya. Menos mal, si no se la lío allí en medio. ¿Por qué no pueden hacer nada si el programa informático no lo tiene previsto? ¿Por qué se creen que me voy a conformar con que me digan «el ordenador no deja»?

姉妹の名前はMaría Luisa Torralba MartínezとMaría Yolanda Torralba Martínezだった。日本の航空は先に二つの名字を空白なしでくっつけて、その後に名前をくっつけるくせがあって、二人ともの名前が「TORRALBAMARTINEZ MAR」になった。ちょっとくだらないけど、ココまで問題はなかった。問題は乗り継ぎの搭乗券の発行にあった。同行のスペイン人11人はみんな乗り継ぎの搭乗券をもらっていた。でもこの二人のは同じ名前で発行出来ないらしい。同じ名前じゃないけどね。同じ名前だったとしても発行出来るはずのにね。次の空港で搭乗カウンターに言って下さい、と。その時間がないからこそは行をお願いしているのに。何回か説明したら、到着のゲートで案内してくれる人を置いてもらった。なんでソフトに予想されていないことが出来ないとき、人にも何も出来ないのだろう？そして、なんで「出来ません」で済むと思っているのだろう？

The two sisters’ names are María Luisa Torralba Martínez and María Yolanda Torralba Martínez. Japanese airlines write our names starting by our two surnames stuck together without space, and then stick our names right after. So their name on the boarding pass was TORRALBAMARTINEZ MAR. The same for both of them. Kind of ridiculous but no problem till now. The problem is, they weren’t able to print their boarding passes for following flights because they had the same name (which they don’t have, and that’s no excuse even if they actually had it). Everybody else (11 more Spaniards) had all their passes, and there was no time to go to the check-in counters again. I had to explain this many times until they promised to have a person waiting for them at the gate they would arrive in Nagoya Airport. Why can’t they do anything that the program hasn’t foreseen? And why do they think I’ll be okay by only telling me «it can’t be done»?
