Latas de cerveza y carnets de conducir ビールと免許

Es raro ver máquinas expendedoras de cerveza en Japón, pero haberlas haylas. El problema es comprobar la edad del comprador.

ビールの自販機は日本で珍しい物だけど、あるのはある。問題は年齢確認にある。

Beer vending machines are rare in Japan, but one sometimes finds one. The problem is checking the age of the user.

Esta máquina, que parece tener unos sus añitos, tiene dos métodos para comprobar que el comprador es mayor de 20 años. La primera es un lector de carnets de conducir, cosa que a lo mejor os sorprende pero tiene una razón de ser y es que en Japón no hay carnet de identidad. Pero claro, de esta un adulto no tiene por qué tener carnet, así que la segunda manera es un interfono que no sabemos con quién comunica exactamente. Y tranquilos, porque esto no hace perder el sueño a nadie: esta máquina solo funciona de 11 de la mañana a 5 de la tarde.

この古びた販売機には、年齢確認装置が2つ付いている。一番上のは運転免許書を認識する機械。免許とビールは関係ないだろうと思っていたけど、日本人には国民身分証明書みたいなのがないから、こんな対策されてるみたい。そして2つ目の確認方法はインターホン。どこと繋がってるか分からないけど、この販売機は午前11時から午後5時までしか動かないからおかまいなく。

This machine, which doesn’t look a lot like it’s brand new, has two ways to check the age of a user. The first one is a driving license reader, which might seem odd but Japanese citizens don’t have a compulsory ID card so this is just a workaround. But not everyone has a license, so here’s plan B: an intercom. Don’t know where it’s connected to, but don’t worry about waking anyone up from bed as this machine only works from 11 am to 5 pm.

Y este es el rollo. ¿Os ha parecido tan chocante como a mí la conexión entre el carnet de conducir y la cerveza?

こんなもんだね。免許とビールがこんな感じに繋がっているのが面白い（おかしい、変だ）と思う人が、僕の他に誰かいるかな？

Comida de avión: British Airways 飛行機で出るご飯

A menudo hablo de comida de Japón o de España, pero hoy vamos a quedarnos a mitad de camino: la comida que me dieron en un avión británico.

日本とスペインの食べ物の話は良くするけど、今回は真ん中ぐらいのご飯の話をしたいと思います：英国の飛行機で出たご飯。

I often write about Japanese or Spanish food, but today we’ll be somewhere in between: this is about a meal I had on a British plane.

Los macarrones con verduras estaban muy buenos, y la ensaladilla estaba buena también. Fijaos en que la presentación no es muy forzada sino que los platos tienen forma de plato, etc. Esto se agradece cuando uno intenta comer lo más tranquilo y cómodo posible.

野菜たっぷりのパスタは結構うまくて、ポテトサラダもおいしかった。でも一番いいと思ったのは、全てが食べやすいようになっているところ。乗り物でお弁当を食べている気分よりお店で定食を食べている感じで、とてもリラックスできた。

The macaroni with lots of vegetables were delicious, and the potato salad was quite good too. But look at how it’s served –the dishes are dish-shaped and all. This feels very comfortable and helps getting relaxed when one’s eating on a plane.

この地中海の野菜のごちゃ混ぜみたいな物は驚いた。ここで、イギリスは地中海から遠いのは重要です！

This «Mediterranean vegetable spread» looks interesting. Note the UK isn’t near the Mediterranean Sea.

Es una especie de pisto industrial y no estaba mal, pero me chocó bastante porque siendo yo español nunca había tenido la necesidad ni oportunidad de probar algo así. Me di cuenta de que cuando uno no está cerca de España (ni de ninguna parte) es una buena manera de comer pisto.

結局、レトルトピストみたいな感じがしたけど美味しかった。驚いたのは、スペン人として手作りのピストしか食べる機会が今までなかったからです。飛行機ではもちろん、スペインから遠い場所ならスペイン料理のレトルトはあり、ということが勉強になった。

It was like a manufactured pisto and it was good. But I found it curious because, being a Spaniard, I didn’t get a chance to ever try manufactured pisto. And I felt it’s a good way of having pisto if you’re far from Spain –or from everywhere.

Y de postre una tarta que no estaba nada mal. Una vez más presentada de una forma cómoda para comer. La comida de British Airways me gusta mucho. ¿Cuál es vuestra comida favorita de avión?

デザートは悪くなかったこのケーキ。これも、他の飛行機より食べやすい出し方です。ブリティッシュ・エアウェイズの食べ物が好き。みんなの好きな飛行機ご飯は何ですか？

For dessert they had this cake which was OK. And it was served in a way that felt natural and comfortable, too. I like British Airways food. What’s your favorite air food?

Cartel de bar pintado con spray スプレー缶で出来たお店の看板

No veo en Japón tantos carteles ni persianas de tiendas pintadas con spray como en España. Y esto por supuesto que llama la atención, pero me parece un poco soso. ¿Se puede llamar a esto graffiti?

日本ではスペインでほどスプレー缶で出来たお店の看板は見ませんね。これは確かに目立つけど、ちょっと寂しいじゃないか？みんな、これはグラフィティと言えると思いますか？

I don’t see as many spray painted signs in Japan as I see in Spain. And this sure stands out, but it feels a bit dull. Could one call this graffiti?

Tsukemen o ramen para mojar 博多元勲つけ麺

Hace unos días @taccu nos llevó a un sitio de tsukemen llamado Hakata Genkun, y nos gustó tanto que hemos repetido.

ちょっと前@taccuに教えてもらったつけ麺の博多元勲にもう一回行ってみた。

A few days ago, @taccu took us to a tsukemen place called Hakata Genkun, and we liked it as much as to go again.

El sitio es enano –solo caben 8 personas en la barra y no hay mesas.

カウンターで8人しか座れない、テーブルがない狭いお店です。

It’s a tiny place –only 8 people can sit at the counter and there are no tables.

Primero te ponen un vasito de caldo (soso) y sal y yuzukoshō para que te pongas a tu gusto. Si te pasas, pica.

最初は味付けされていないスープが出る。好みで塩と柚子胡椒を入れて飲む。入れすぎると辛いよ。

First you get a soup without much flavor, together with salt and yuzukoshō for you to find the right spot. If you put in too much, it’ll be spicy.

Luego ya viene la sopa de pollo, calentita y con tacos de carne de pollo, en la que mojaremos los fideos antes de llevárnoslos a la boca.

次が麺を浸けることになる鶏ベースのスープ。鶏肉も入っている。

Then comes the chicken soup you’ll be dipping the noodles in. It has chicken in it, too.

Los fideos vienen fríos o calientes, como quieras, y también puedes elegir 200 gramos (normal) o 250 o 300. Te cobran lo mismo. A mí me entran 300, pero es una cantidad bastante contundente.

麺は冷たいのまたは暖かいの選べる。量も200グラム（普通）、250グラムか300グラムか選べる。値段は変わらないので、300グラム行っちゃう。結構多いけど。

The noodles come hot or cold, and you can also choose having 200, 250 or 300 g of them, they will charge you the same. I had 300, but it’s always kind of a lot.

Cenar aquí vale 850 yenes, pero llevan a cabo una discriminación sexista en la que, si eres chica, te devuelven 100 yenes con una notita de agradecimiento. Al final me quedé yo con las dos monedas porque invité a dos chicas. No le veo el sentido a esto.

つけ麺は850円だけど、女性だと100円帰ってくる女性差別が行われている。結局僕がおごった女性の200円をもらって帰った。意味が分からない。

It’s ¥850 to have tsukemen here, but there’s this sexism where they return ¥100 to the girls. At the end I got ¥200 back because I had payed for 2 girls. This makes no sense to me.
