Esta mañana he seguido en directo por Ustream la presentación de los nuevos modelos de Softbank (uno de los tres grandes operadores móviles de Japón) y me ha sorprendido el énfasis que ha puesto su presidente Masayoshi Son (@masason) en su pasión por Twitter. Los 14 nuevos terminales de la temporada verano 2010 vienen con una aplicación preinstalada para usar Twitter: TweetMe de Flight System Consulting. Un directivo de esta empresa es Takashi Sugiyama (@TakaFlight), un hombre de Fukuoka cn el que he hablado alguna vez y ya ha salido en este blog. La aplicación TweetMe para iPhone mola porque le puedes dictar en japonés y te lo escribe.
Casi toda la presentación ha sido sobre Twitter, y Son ha dicho muchas cosas interesantes. Por ejemplo:
- Él se levanta y antes de leer el periódico lo primero que hace es leer Twitter.
- El 28% de los usuarios de iPhone en Japón son usuarios de Twitter.
- No tiene sentido prohibir a los menores de de 18 años usar Twitter.
- No se puede prohibir que los políticos lo usen en sus campañas. Deberían usarlo porque es gratis.
Diez de los modelos presentados también vienen con un widget de twinavi, una guía para Twitter hecha por la empresa donde trabaja nuestro amigo Héctor García (@kirai), que es la empresa que lleva Twitter en Japón. Según Héctor, Twitter Japón está preparando servidores extra para prepararse para el nuevo tráfico que vendrá de Softbank.
También se ha hablado de temas como los nuevos terminales (me gusta el mirumo2), de Wi-Fi gratis y de Ustream Asia –pero hoy me conformo con contaros lo de Twitter. Ha sido muy interesante y abajo tenéis los links para ver la presentación entera en vídeo, en japonés o en inglés.
TwitMe for iPhone
今朝はソフトバンクの新製品発表をUstreamで見ていた。社長の孫正義氏(@masason)がTwitterに関して表した熱い姿勢に驚いた。発表された14台の2010年夏の全ての新端末にはTweetMeというTwitter用アプリケーションが最初から付いてくるらしい。このアプリを開発しているフライトシステムコンサルティングの取締役の一人はこのブログにいつか出たことある福岡の杉山隆志氏(@TakaFlight)。iPhone用のTweetMeは、日本語を喋ると、自分の言った事を文字にしてくれてかっこいいアプリです。
プレゼンのほとんどはTwitterの話で、孫氏が面白いことをいっぱい言っていた。例えば：
- 毎日起きたら新聞を見る前にもツイッターをチェックしている。
- 日本のiPhoneユーザーの28%がTwitterを使っている。
- 18歳未満にTwitterを使わせない意味がない。
- 選挙のとき、政治家に使わせない意味もない。無料で使えるから使わせたい。
今日発表された端末の中、10台にはtwinaviのウィジェットも付いている。twinaviは友達のHéctor García (@kirai)の会社が作っているツイッターのガイドサイト。Héctorによると、Twitter日本はソフトバンクからの新しいユーザに備えてサーバを増やしているそうです。
その他の話は新端末自体（mirumo2かわいいな）、無料Wi-FiとUstream Asia。だけど、今日はTwitter関係の話だけまとめてみました。かなり面白かった。下記にプレゼンの映像が見れるリンクを置きました。

This morning I’ve been following Softbank‘s (one of the three large Japanese mobile carriers) presentation for the new 2010 Summer models, and I’m very surprised about the passion CEO Masayoshi Son (@masason) showed about Twitter. All 14 new terminals for the 2010 summer season come with a preinstalled application for Twitter: TweetMe by Flight System Consulting. One chairman of this company is Takashi Sugiyama (@TakaFlight), a man from Fukuoka who has already been on this blog before. TweetMe for iPhone is a cool app because you can talk Japanese to it and it will type it for you.
Son said many interesting things about Twitter. To pick up a few:
- When he gets up, the first thing he does is check Twitter, even before checking the newspaper.
- 28% of all iPhone users in Japan are Twitter users.
- It has no sense to filter people younger than 18 from Twitter.
- It has no sense too to ban politicians from Twitter. They should use it during elections because it is free.
Ten of the new terminals also come with a widget for twinavi, a Twitter guide made by the company where our friend Héctor García (@kirai), which is the company that’s working on Twitter in Japan. According to Héctor, Twitter Japan is getting ready extra servers to be ready for the new traffic from Softbank.
