En la ciudad de Sanmu, Chiba, se ha celebrado el día 18 de enero el 57º Concurso Sachio de Tanka en honor a Sachio Itō, un escritor local de tanka (forma de poesía japonesa). En la categoría de Bachillerato (16 a 18 años) el ganador del premio del alcalde ha sido el estudiante de 17 años Shunsuke Hishiki (¿o quizás Toshisuke? ¿alguien puede confirmar la pronunciación al 100%?). Dice que su poesía describe la soledad de un gorila que vio en el zoológico.

Todo el mundo se ha partido de risa y, aunque hay quien dice que es un tanka vergonzoso, a mí me parece muy bueno precisamente porque es diferente de las tradicionales y consigue una reacción que habría gustado a ese gorila. El jurado por su parte ha sabido ser noticia con el tanka, pero deberían haber tenido en cuenta que un chico de 17 años puede no encajar muy bien las inevitables críticas. ¡Ánimo Hishiki!

1月18日、千葉県山武市の第57回左千夫短歌大会（伊藤左千夫由来）の高校部の市長賞は、2年生の菱木俊輔君(17)が受賞した。動物園で見たゴリラの孤独を表現したと言う。（しゅんすけ君ですか？としすけ君ですか？自信がある人は教えて下さい）

みんな爆笑だったらしくて、いつもの短歌と違うというのはとてもいいと思う。くだらない短歌だという人もいるけど、人の反応にもあのゴリラが喜びそう。これをきっかけに短歌のニュースが出来たのもいいけど、少年が人の批判をスルー出来るか心配です。頑張れ菱木君！

Everybody was rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL) and, while there are people saying it’s a stupid tanka, I find it interesting because it’s so different to traditional tanka, and that gorilla would have loved the people’s reaction. The organization has done a good job giving visibility to tanka with this piece of news, but I’m concerned if the boy will be able to ignore all of the criticism. Kick their asses Hishiki!
También hay quien ha notado que el tanka de Hishiki se parece a esta viñeta del cachondísimo manga de risa Pyū to Fuku! Jaguar, lo que a mi modo de ver no le quita nada de mérito ya que la forma y el contexto son completamente diferentes. Ni siquiera me parece relevante que Hishiki conociera esto o no. Por cierto, ¿alguien se anima a escribir un tanka en los comentarios? 5-7-5-7-7 sílabas. ¡Adelante!
菱木君の短歌が「ピューと吹く!ジャガー」という面白いギャグ漫画のあるコマに似ていることに気がついた人もいるけど、菱木君がそれを知ったかと関わらず「形」と「場所」が全く違うから僕の評価が変わらない。それじゃあコメントで短歌を書いてみない？5-7-5-7-7でどうぞ！
There’s also people who have noticed Hishiki’s tanka is similar to this panel from hylarous manga Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar, but the shape and occasion are totally different so i don’t even care if Hishiki knew that manga. My opinion doesn’t change. Well, anyone up for a tanka comment? 5-7-5-7-7 – go ahead!
