Creo que en realidad es una cosa super normal, pero me sigue sorprendiendo que haya un campo de arroz al lado de una carretera de seis carriles por la que paso yo en bicicleta todos los días.
En nuestro edificio no se permiten mascotas orgánicas, así que tenemos este robot WonderBorg de Bandai. Se llama Willy. Es un robot que se mueve a su aire, calculando lo que tiene que hacer según un programa que le metes, y sus sentidos (sensores). El programa se hace con un “juego” de WonderSwan, una maquinita también de Bandai, parecida a la Game Boy de Nintendo, y se envía al robot por rayos infrarrojos.
En este video vemos como Willy intenta esquivar los obstáculos que ve con sus sensores de infrarrojos, girando hacia la dirección contraria al obstáculo. En caso de que una de las antenas se tope con algo, el robot retrocede y rectifica su trayectoria. El sonido que emite es diferente dependiendo del sensor que detecta el obstáculo.
Esta vez se puede apreciar que Willy tiene problemas con los huecos entre los tebeos.
In the building we’re living at, one can’t have pets so we have a BandaiWonderBorg called Willy. It’s an autonomous robot that moves depending on a program and what its sensors detect. The program is written using a piece of WonderSwan software (WonderSwan is Bandai’s handheld game system, and it resembles a bit a Game Boy). Then, you can transmit the program to the borg using infrared waves.
In this video we can see how Willy dodges the obstacles he can see with his infrared eyes, turning to the opposite direction. When anything touches its feelers, it will walk back a few steps and turn away from the obstacle. And it makes a different sound depending on which sensor detected the obstacle.
This time, we can see Willy has trouble with the gaps between the books.

Ayer por la noche después de trabajar vinimos a Hofu, provincia de Yamaguchi, para visitar a la familia de Ai. El viaje fue largo (4 horas y media con una parada para cenar) y la pobre Ai se cansó mucho porque condujo todo el rato.
Yesterday we came to Hofu (Yamaguchi prefecture) in the evening, after work, to pay a visit to Ai’s family. The trip was long (4 hours and a half, including one stop for supper) so poor Ai ended up very tired, after driving all the way.

En Fukuoka no tengo oportunidad de ver si han florecido los cerezos cada día, pero aquí he visto que algunos sí y algunos no. Seguro que la semana que viene podremos ir a ponernos ciegos en Fukuoka bajo los cerezos, en el ancestral rito que es el hanami.

Caminando por el centro de Fukuoka me encontré con una máquina de bebidas que a primera vista tenía disponible una apetitosa maceta. Pocos segundos tardé en darme cuenta de que había 5 botones consecutivos para pedir Coca Cola, y los dos de los extremos tenían la dichosa maceta en vez de la botella.
Walking around Fukuoka I saw this vending machine where it looked like one could have a refreshing… flowerpot? It took me some seconds to figure, there were 5 Coca Cola buttons, and 2 of them had actually flowerpots on them, instead of drinks.
