El famoso día que nos dieron la colza nosotros llevamos tortillas de patatas. Hay muchas formas de hacerlas pero esta es la que me enseñó mi madre. Me gustan mucho así, y son muy fáciles de hacer.

菜の花をもらったあの日には、僕たちが作って持って行ったのはトルティージャだった。スペインの名物であるジャガイモが入ったオムレツです。そしてこれは母の教わった作り方。簡単で美味しい。

The glorious day we got the rapeseed, we made Spanish omelets for everybody. There are many ways of making these, but this is the way I learnt from my mother and I like it for both the flavor and the low difficulty.

Primero freímos un poco las patatas cortadas finitas en aceite normal (no de oliva porque queda muy pesado).

最初はジャガイモを薄く切って普通の油で少し炒める。ここからオリーブ油を使ってしまうと全体の味が濃くなる。

First we cut the potatoes thin and fry them a little with regular oil – save the olive oil for later or your omelet’s taste will be too thick.

Luego las mezclamos con huevos y sal. Esta vez usamos 500 g de patatas y 4 huevos y mucha sal. Hemos freído las patatas sin sal así que el huevo tiene que saber muy salado en esta mezcla.

次は玉子と塩に混ぜる。今回使ったのはジャガイモ500グラムと卵4個。塩はいっぱい入れないと駄目。ジャガイモを炒めたときは味付けしなかったので、今の生卵が凄くしょっぱくならないと最後は味が薄くなってしまうので勇気を持って塩を加えよう。

Then mix them with eggs and salt. This time we used 500 g of potatoes and 4 eggs, plus lots of salt. We didn’t add salt when frying the potatoes so the egg in this mix has to taste twice as salty as you’d like your final Spanish omelet.

Lo que es la tortilla sí que la hacemos con aceite de oliva (arbequina en este caso), y ojo que no se pegue. Por cierto mirad qué pedazo de borde tiene esta sartén japonesa. Es muy difícil deslizar la tortilla sin romperla.

トルティージャ自体を作るときはオリーブ油を使って（今回はアルベキーナ油を使った）焦げ付けないように気をつけよう。このフライパンの底が深くて、トルティージャを滑らせるのは難しかった。

We used olive oil for the omelet itself – arbequina for further detail. Be careful so it doesn’t stick to the bottom. By the way look at this Japanese frying pan’s border. It’s not easy to flip the omelette over with such a high, steep border.

Pero le di la vuelta sin problemas con la ayuda de un plato grande y un buen juego de muñeca. Se tapa la sartén con el plato, se le da la vuelta a todo rápidamente, y se escurre la tortilla otra vez para dentro de la sartén.

でも出来た！でかいお皿でフタしてフライパンを素早くひっくり返す。それからトルティージャをフライパンに滑らせて入れ直す。

But I did OK! Covering the pan with a large dish and then flipping everything at once. Then I had to slip the omelet back into the frying pan.

Aquí nuestras 1.8 tortillas con lo que trajeron los otros invitados. A la tortilla 2 se le cayó un trozo al darle la vuelta. No, no nos lo comimos en casa antes de venir. Lamentablemente se tuvo que ir a la basura.

これはみんなが持ってきてくれたものと僕たちのトルティージャ1.8個。トルティージャ2号はひっくり返すときに事故に会ってしまった。ここで見えない部分は出発前に食べたりしなかった。残念ながら実は捨てることになった。

Here are our 1.8 omelets. Actually the second one had difficulties when flipping over but we couldn’t even eat the part that got torn away. Unfortunately we had to throw it away.
