Hace ya unos cuantos meses que me compré este libro y lo he estado leyendo a ratos hasta terminarlo hace poco, aunque ha habido meses que no lo he tocado. Me pareció interesante el anime de Haruhi (aunque es raro que me guste un anime moderno) y decidí darle una oportunidad a la obra original, este libro que salió hace ya 5 años y se ha convertido en una serie de 9 novelas que ya ha vendido varios millones de ejemplares además de manga, anime, videojuegos, figuras (estatuillas) de sus personajes y mucho más.

数ヶ月前にこの本を買って最後までちょこちょこ読んできた。古くないアニメが気に入るの珍しいけど、僕にとってハルヒのアニメが面白かった。だから原本である5年前発売されたこのライトノベルにかけてみた。発売以来、凉宮ハルヒシリーズは9巻に渡る何百万部売れた人気シリーズになっている。もちろんアニメもマンガもゲームもフィギュアも大人気だ。

It’s been some months since I bought this book and have been reading it in a non-periodical way until I finished it recently. I don’t usually find modern anime interesting but I thought the Haruhi anime was fun and placed a bet on the original work, this novel that has been out for 5 years and has spawned a series of 9 books that has sold some milions of copies. Of course the Haruhi anime, manga, video games and figures are very popular too.

Es una light novel, lo que en Japón significa novela para público juvenil o, cómo no, otaku. Sigue muchos tópicos moe (obligatorio en este medio) pero lo hace con sentido del humor y la parodia, y también tiene momentos pseudo-ciencia-ficción de los que me gustan, sobre todo cuando Yuki Nagato explica cosas. Y me ha resultado bastante sencilla de leer para ser una novela en japonés.

「萌え」とかそういう要素が多いが（ライトノベルだからしょうがないだろう）その使い方が面白いと思った。SFぽい部分も僕の好みの方だった、特に長門有希が何かの説明をしているとき。それに日本語の小説にしても僕には割と読みやすかった。

This is a light novel what in Japan means it’s aimed at students and of course the otaku. It follows many moe topics (as it is mandatory in this kind of media) but I think it does that in a graceful way, and it also has the kind of pseudo-sci-fi moments that I like, for instance when Yuki Nagato is explaining something. And it was quite easy to read despite being a Japanese novel.

Los dibujos originales también me gustan más que los diseños de personajes del anime, aunque entiendo que esos deben de ser más fáciles de mover en una pantalla. Me parecen mucho más graciosas y expresivas las ilustraciones originales, como esta en la que Haruhi Suzumiya le quita la ropa a Mikuru Asahina mientras Yuki Nagato lee un libro, impasible. Fijaos en sus caras.

原本のイラストはアニメのキャラデザインより気に入った。顔に表現が、より入れ込まれている気がしてよく伝わると思う。例えばこの下のよくある場面：長門有希が本を読んでいるときに朝比奈みくるの制服を脱がす凉宮ハルヒ。顔をよく見てください。

I like the original drawings over the anime character designs, although I think those must be a lot easier to move around on a screen. I love this illustration in which Haruhi Suzumiya is taking off Mikuru Asahina’s sailor suit while Yuki Nagato is reading a book. Don’t miss their faces.

El autor es Nagaru Tanigawa y las ilustraciones son de Noizi Ito. Las novelas se serializan en la revista The Sneaker de Kadokawa Shoten y se recopilan en su línea Sneaker Bunko. Yo por mi parte con una novela estoy satisfecho pero ¿Quién de vosotros se leería los libros de Haruhi si salieran en español?

著作者は谷川流で、イラストはいとうのいぢ。角川書店のザ・スニーカーという雑誌で連載されていて、角川スニーカー文庫で発売。僕は1巻で充分かなと思ったけど全部読んでいる人がいっぱいいる気がする。

The author is Nagaru Tanigawa, and the illustrations are by Noizi Ito. These novels are serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s magazine The Sneaker, and paperbacks are published in Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko line. I’m satisfied after one book and don’t think I’ll be reading the rest, but would you read the Haruhi novels if they were published in English?
