Soba de nochevieja hecho a mano 手打ち年越しそば

Hace un par de años tuvimos la oportunidad de comer soba hecho a mano por mi suegro. Y en Japón, para recibir el año nuevo, en vez de uvas se toma soba.

2年ぐらい前、愛ちゃんのお父さんの手打ちそばを食べる機会があった。

About two years ago, I had the chance to have hand-made soba from Ai’s father. And maybe you already knew that Japan celebrates the new year eating soba.

Así que ¿qué mejor que soba hecho a mano para recibir el año 2011 en casa de mis suegros? En el vídeo de aquí abajo podéis ver cómo hicimos los fideos desde el principio.

年末年始はそっちに帰ってたし、年越しそばはお父さんの手打ちに決まり！この下の動画では最初から作ってるところが見えます。僕も少し手伝ってみました。

So we welcomed 2011 with hand-made soba, of course. In the video below you can see how it was done from the beginning.

¿Os gustaría hacer soba a mano alguna vez? En mi primera visita a Japón me llevaron a hacer soba con un montón de familias y me gustó mucho. ¡Aunque esta vez he aprendido mucho más!

そばを作った（打った？）ことありますか？初めて日本に来たときは手打ちに連れて行かれて、子供もいっぱいいたので楽しかった。でも今回の方が勉強になりました！

Would you like to make soba by hand some time? They took me to do this once the first time I was in Japan, and I had a very good time with a lot of families and kids, but last time was most instructive!

Udon y soba うどんとそば

Esto es un plato de udon con un huevo crudo, una gamba rebozada (tempura), y un poco de ternera, wakame y puerro.

これは生卵と、海老の天ぷらと、牛肉と、わかめとネギが入ったうどん。

This is a bowl of udon with a raw egg, a tempura shrimp, and some beef, wakame and Welsh onion.

Y esto es un plato de soba con un huevo crudo, una gamba rebozada, y un poco de ternera, wakame y puerro.

そしてこれは生卵と、海老の天ぷらと、牛肉と、わかめとネギが入ったそば。

And this is a bowl of soba with a raw egg, a tempura shrimp, and some beef, wakame and Welsh onion.

¿Cuál es la diferencia? El udon se hace con harina de trigo, mientras que el soba se hace con harina de alforfón o trigo sarraceno. (Ojo, que los fideos de yakisoba sí que son de trigo, a pesar del nombre.) También creo que suelen ser más gordos los fideos de udon que los de soba, pero hay muchas variedades a lo largo de Japón. Yo suelo preferir soba. ¿Y a ti cuál te gusta más?

違いは、うどんの麺は小麦粉で出来ていてそばのはそば粉で出来ている。（焼きそばの麺は小麦粉だからご注意下さい。）それと、うどんの方が太い気がするけどいろいろあるかもしれないね。僕はそばがいい。あなたはどっちの方が好き？

What’s the difference? Udon noodles are made with wheat flour, while soba noodles are made with buckwheat. (Beware yakisoba noodles are made of wheat, despite of their name.) I think udon noodles use to be thicker, but there are many varieties along all Japan. I prefer soba –which one do you like best?

Stamina soba スタミナそば定食

Hoy está nevando (aunque no ha cuajado) y para comer algo calentito hemos ido a un sitio de udon cerca de casa.

今日は雪だから（積もらないけど）近くのうどん屋さんで暖かい物を食べに行った。

It’s snowing today (though it hasn’t piled up) so we went to had something hot at a nearby udon place.

Para variar hemos pedido un menú nuevo de soba bastante completo y variado. Hacía tiempo que no veníamos y sigue estando igual de bueno que siempre.

スタミナセット新しくできてたから頼んでみて。いろいろ付いててお得だった。久しぶりに来たけど、ここはやっぱり美味しい。

Today we had a new soba set they have which comes with a little of everything. It’d been a long time since we last came here but it’s still as tasty.

Soba en Yabuko そば処の藪幸

Ai comiendo zaru soba en un muy buen restaurante que hemos descubierto hoy.

今日見つけたいいお店でざるそばを食べる愛。

Ai having zaru soba at a great restaurant we just discovered today.

Yo me pedí konoha-don, que no es nada del manga Naruto sino un plato de arroz con una especie de revuelto de muchas setas por encima. Todo estaba especialmente bueno.

僕はコノハ丼にした。初めて食べたけど、ここでは何でもうまくて驚いた。

I had a konoha-don, which is totally unrelated to the Naruto manga and is a bowl of rice covered with egg and many mushroom varieties. Everything was especially yummy.

El ambiente del sitio también era muy acogedor, pero en la foto de arriba falta algo.

雰囲気も良かった！心地いい。でも上の写真には何かが足りない。

The ambience was great too, but in the picture above I miss something.

Lo que hacía reír a Ai en la primera foto: la señora del restaurante. Muy divertida, no paró de hablar con nosotros y de traernos platitos con más cositas como inarizushi o sobayu.

1枚目の写真で愛を笑わせたのは、お店のおばさん。凄く楽しい人で、ずっと話してくれていていなり寿司、そば湯などサービスを出してくれた。

This is what made Ai laugh on the first picture: the restaurant lady. She’s very fun and didn’t stop talking to us and taking us more free food, like inarizushi or sobayu.

Al principio se creía que Ai era china (creo que hay más gente que lo piensa, pero nadie lo suele decir) y de mí se quedó con la idea de que era suizo, supongo que porque tanto España como Suiza empiezan por la letra «su». Esta foto nos la hizo ella.

最初は愛が中国人だと勘違いしていた。そういう勘違いをする人は他にもいると思うけど、普通はなかなか言ってこないから珍しかった。僕はスイス人で覚えられた。スペインもスイスもどっちも「ス行」だからかな。上の写真はおばさんが撮ってくれた。

At first she thought Ai was Chinese (I think there are more people who think the same, only they don’t say it). And she thinks I’m Swiss because both Spain and Swiss start with that «su» letter. She took the picture above for us.

Nos gustaría que este restaurante estuviera cerca de casa para poder venir muy a menudo. ¡Pero ojo al parque en el que está, que eso tan grande que se ve es un estanque!

このお店は家の近くにあったらいいな。でも大濠公園も凄くいいところだ。あのでかい青い範囲は池！

We’d love this restaurant to be near home so we can go more often, but the nearby park is a great place too. That green area is a huge pond!

Okonomiyaki con sorpresa 広島風お好み焼き

Este fin de semana fuimos a comer okonomiyaki con la familia, y en Yamaguchi son bastante populares los okonomiyaki estilo Hiroshima, también llamados modan-yaki en algunos restaurantes.

今週末は家族でお好み焼きを食べに行った。山口では広島風は割と人気。お店によってモダン焼きとも言われることがある。

This weekend we went out to have okonomiyaki in family. In Yamaguchi, Hiroshima style okonomiyaki are quite popular. At some restaurants they are called modan-yaki.

Algunas diferencias con los okonomiyaki estilo Kansai son que están hechos por capas, sin mezclar todo, y además tienen dentro fideos por lo que llenan mucho. Este de aquí arriba tiene fideos de yakisoba.

関西風お好み焼きとの違いはいろいろあると思うけど、僕が気付いたのは全てを混ぜないで重ねて焼くことと、中に麺が入っていること。結構お腹いっぱいになる。この上のお好み焼きはそば入りだ。

Some differences with Kansai style okonomiyaki are: you don’t mix everything before cooking but you cook it in layers, and also it usually has noodles inside so one ends up quite stuffed up. This one above has yakisoba noodles in it.

¡Y este que me comí yo llevaba arroz! Esto sí que es la primera vez que lo veíamos. Estaba muy bueno.

そして僕が食べたこのお好み焼きはなんとライス入り！みんな初めて見た。美味かった。

And this one I had has rice in it! It was the first time for everybody to see this. And it was good.

Una camarera muy guapa nos ayudó a hacernos los okonomiyaki en la plancha-mesa. ¡Gracias!

A very cute waitress helped us with cooking our okonomiyaki on the hot plate. Thank you!
