Christon Cafe キリストンカフェ

Christon Cafe es un restaurante en Shinjuku ambientado para góticos (sobre todo para góticas). Se veía entrar muchas chicas guapas con vestidos de época y abrazando sin parar un osito de peluche.

キリストンカフェは新宿にあるキリスト教の雰囲気を作ったお店。ゴスロリなドレスを着てクマさんのぬいぐるみを抱いたかわいいお嬢さんがいっぱいいました。

Christon Cafe is a restaurant in Shinjuku with a Christian theme, in which you can find many gothic lolita dressed cute girls holding a teddy bear.

Los japoneses son muy abiertos para estas cosas. La mezcla de religiones ha dado como resultado una sociedad que no se ofende por el uso o parodia comercial de sus imágenes religiosas. Y aunque en la puerta había un cartel por el que parecía que eran muy estrictos a la hora de dejarte entrar según la ropa que llevases, a nosotros que solamente estábamos de paso e íbamos a hacer la elástica (porque el sitio parecía chulo pero caro) nos preguntaron de cuántos queríamos la mesa. Nosotros ahí vestidos de post-nu-rave, y nos querían dejar entrar. No lo pudimos permitir.

日本はこういうことにオープンというところが好きです。宗教のもののこういう使い道は西洋では失礼になるかもしれないのに、日本では大丈夫だ。それに、入り口には衣装の規制みたいなのが細かく書いてあったけど、こんな格好でもお店に入れるつもりだったらしい。通りすがりで気になって見ていたから「何名様ですか」と聞かれた。高そうで断ってしまったけど、本当は入ってみたかった。

I like the fact that Japan is very open in this way. Using religious imagery for commercial purposes is tolerated maybe because they have known two or more religions for many hundreds of years. And they were more open that I expected in yet another way: we were just passing by and looking at the restaurant and the very strict dress code they had at the entrance, and a waitress asked me how many people we were. We couldn’t go in because it seemed expensive, but we were surprised that they would have let us in with those looks.

Recreativos de barrio 住宅街のゲーセン

Jugando en unos recreativos de barrio con mi amigo Mikel al Metal Slug. Todo baratísimo, a 20 o 30 yenes el crédito. Y seguro que alguno de nuestros lectores puede decir qué Metal Slug es solo viendo la foto.

友達のミケルと住宅街のゲーセンで「メタルスラッグ」をやった。この写真を見るだけで、メタルスラッグのどっちか分かる人がいると思う。ちなみにすごく安かった、20〜30円。

Playing Metal Slug with my friend Mikel at a suburban arcade. Everything was super cheap, like 20 or 30 yens a credit. And I bet some of our readers can tell which Metal Slug game this is just for this photo.

Lo más curioso son las máquinas de jugar a dobles en las que juega uno en una máquina y otro en la de detrás, que tiene la pantalla al revés.

一番面白かったのは対戦用のゲーム機。2Pは別のゲーム機を使って、その画面が反転されている。

Most interesting were the 2 player machines. The 2nd player will play at a machine placed behind the first one, and his screen is mirrored.

Fijaos en que está máquina de segundo jugador solo tiene mando a la izquierda, pero solo está el botón «2 play». Estas máquinas deben de estar pensadas para campeonatos.

コントローラーは左側なのに、2Pのスタートボタンしかない。大会用かな、こういうゲーム機。

As you can see, the 2nd player machine only has the «2 play» start button, although the controller is at the left. I guess these machines are for tournament play.

Bonito cartel escrito a mano: «A los borrachos y a los que molestan a los demás los echamos inmediatamente y avisamos a la policía».

手書きの警告：「泥酔者及び他の人の迷惑になる様な人は即退店して頂きます警察にも連絡させて頂きます」。

Cute handwritten sign at the entrance: «We will have you leave immediately if you are too drunk or are annoying to other people, and we will also call the police».

Aseo para perros guía 盲導犬専用トイレ

En Tenjin hay un aseo para acceso exclusivo con perro guía. Por supuesto se anuncia con un altavoz para que los invidentes sepan de él, como podéis escuchar aquí.

天神には盲導犬専用トイレがある。失明の方に知られるようにもちろん、この下の動画でお聞きの通り、音声で報告されている。

In Tenjin there is an exclusive toilet for access with guide dog. Of course it’s announced by voice, so that blind people can know of it. You can hear that in this video.

Japonés raro en el extranjero 日本語でどづぞ

A todo el mundo le parece muy curioso que en Japón haya muchas cosas mal escritas en inglés, o que haya equivocaciones graciosas. Y de hecho son muy divertidas, pero ni Japón es el único sitio donde pasa esto ni el inglés es el único idioma afectado.

外国人はほとんど「Engrish」が面白いと思っている。「Engrish」というのは「English」と違って、和製英語、日本の誤った英語等のことです。しかしこういうことは日本だけじゃない！逆に「外国では」というおかしい日本語もある。

Everybody thinks wrong English or Engrish spotted in Japan is fun, and it indeed is. But Japan isn’t the only place with this stuff and English isn’t the only language either.

Nihongo de dozuzo de Yukio Yanagisawa es una recopilación de cosas escritas en japonés de forma equivocada o curiosa, por supuesto todas ellas encontradas fuera de Japón. Muy recomendable para aprender de los errores de otros.

柳沢有紀夫氏の「日本語でどづぞ」は外国で発見された誤った日本語を収録している。僕も母国語が日本語じゃないけど、他人の間違いが勉強になって面白かった。

Yukio Yanagisawa‘s Nihongo de dozuzo is a compilation of wrong Japanese spotted everywhere but in Japan. This book is good for learning from other people’s errors.

¿Qué leéis aquí arriba? En la primera línea he recreado lo que pone en el cartel, y abajo lo que creo yo que debería poner. Como veis es parecido pero incorrecto: se han sustituido letras por otras parecidas.

上の看板が確かにおかしいけど、微妙に通じる。部品部品で文字を作ったみたい。

What do you read up here? The first line recreates the sign, and on the second one I’ve tried to write the same content in correct Japanese. As you can see it’s similar but not correct – some characters are replaced with similar but different counterparts.

Nota del autor: «pero a pesar de todo entiendo lo que pone». Se puede leer si te imaginas lo que debería poner, pero es bastante alienante.

作者が「でも、これで意味がわかるんだから」というコメント。看板は確かに読めるけど、すごい違和感だ。

A note from the author: «but I can read it anyway». It’s not hard to read if you can picture what it should say, but it is quite alienating.

Típica camiseta con letras japonesas copiadas al azar de cualquier parte. Lo que pone es «ropa grande», y me apostaría algo a que pone lo mismo en la talla pequeña. Abajo también pone «estado central», algo no tan obvio y que me deja completamente a cuadros.

外国でよく見かける適当に選んだ日本語の文字が入ったTシャツ。「大きい衣装」と書いてあるけど、多分Sサイズにも同じことが書いてあるだろう。下に書いてある「中央状態」も意味不明。

Your typical t-shirt with Japanese characters copied at random from somewhere. What it says is just «big clothes», and I bet it says the same on the S size. On the bottom it also says «central status» which is quite puzzling.

También se recogen equivocaciones escuchadas de viva voz: esta la dijo un peruano. En vez de decir «soy un colador» refiriéndose a que aguanta beber mucho alcohol, acabó diciendo «soy un mono». ¡Y todo por no saber pronunciar la S sonora! Imagínate la escena. Le preguntan «¿no estás bebiendo mucho?» y él responde «tranquilo, soy un mono». A todos nos puede pasar.

実際聞いてしまったおかしい日本語も収録されている。ペルー人が「私はざるです！」と言いたくて「「私は猿です！」と言ってしまったらしい。ちなみにスペイン語には「ザ」という音がなくて言いにくいという人が多い。でもイメージすると面白い。「お前、飲み過ぎじゃないか？」「大丈夫です！私は猿です！」。誰にでもあり得るのではないですか？

They have also compiled wrong japanese heard directly from foreigner – this one is from a Peruvian guy. Instead saying «I’m a sieve» (which means the guy can drink a lot) he ended up saying «I’m an ape» just by mistaking the «s» for the «z» sound. Just picture it: they ask him «aren’t you drinking too much?» and he answers «don’t worry I’m an ape». This kind of stuff can happen to anyone.

Taihō Ramen 大砲ラーメン

El otro día cenamos en uno de tantos buenos restaurantes de ramen que hay en Tenjin: Taihō Ramen.

この間天神にある美味しいラーメンのお店の一つで夜食べた：久留米大砲ラーメン。

The other day we had supper at one of the many good ramen restaurants in Tenjin: Taihou Ramen.

Lo primero que hay que hacer nada más entrar es comprar los tickets de lo que quieras comer, que se venden en una máquina expendedora en la que los botones tienen fotos. Yo me pedí el ramen con alga nori y puerro (o cebolleta), y un suplemento de arroz y gyōza. Total: 830 yenes.

入ったら自動販売機ですぐ食券を買うことだ。僕はのりネギラーメンにして、プラス200円でご飯と餃子を付けてもらった。合計830円。

First thing you do once you’re in is getting your food tickets from the vending machine. I got ramen with nori seaweed and Welsh onion, with a rice and gyoza supplement – everything for 830 yen.

El ramen de Taihō Ramen es del estilo Kurume, que muchos citan como el origen del famoso ramen tonkotsu (caldo de cerdo), que engloba a la gran mayoría del ramen que se come en la isla de Kyushu.

大砲ラーメンは元祖豚骨とよく言われる久留米ラーメンだ。豚骨ラーメンにはいろんな種類があって九州では他のラーメンを食べるのは珍しい。

Taihou Ramen‘s ramen is Kurume style, which is often cited as the roots of all tonkotsu ramen. Tonkotsu or pork soup ramen is a superset of almost every ramen variety in the Kyushu Island.

Después de ponerle sésamo y otros condimentos y comer un poco, tiene esta pinta.

ごま等を付けて、半分食べてから、見た目はこの感じになってくる。

After putting sesame and stuff in the ramen, and having half of it, it looks like this.

Estos son los gyōza, una especie de empanadillas chinas que se suelen hervir o hacer al vapor, pero que en Japón y sobre todo en esta zona es muy típico comerlas a la plancha.

これは焼き餃子。焼くのは日本だけかな？とにかく美味しい。福岡では焼き餃子がかなり有名。

These are gyoza, Chinese dumplings that are usually steamed or boiled, but we like to fry them on a pan here in Japan.

Todo esto es para ponértelo a tu gusto en el ramen y para mojar los gyōza. Un día os haré un cursillo.

初めて来る場合は、付けれる物が多くて難しいかもしれない。幸いなれて来た。

All this stuff is to add a personal flavor to your ramen and gyoza. Maybe I should explain how to use everything some day.

Y este es el restaurante visto desde fuera. Ojo que el «taihō» de Taihō Ramen significa «cañón».
